If there are less than 10 voters this forum is dead.

I don't think it's dead, I just think that people either haven't been playing MP or haven't been able to find anything to comment about.

very well! If you want the forum, you're free to use it for scheduling games...if you don't need it, I can close it.

The sad thing is this is the only thread in this forum, the other one is 12 days ago.

I never saw a need for this thread. Having a sticky with contact information of all the players interested in MP would be much more useful.

^ I agree. If that were included in the regular forum, as well as a MP Discussion/Bug Report thread, this would be unneeded.

So Rhye, how about closing this forum and returning the multiplayer to the main forum?

Oh come on, you can't just start a vote and then when the result isn't what you expected close it anyway.

There's a difference from sleeping and dead. I voted for dead, but I actually mean sleeping, I mean I find this forum useful, but less frequently than the main one. I mean, would you like players to organize an online match in this forum or on the main one ? I think here is much better for a number of reasons.

I think I proved my point...

Unfortunately I haven't been able to provide the new MP version, my fault.
I am completely dedicated to my thesis and I can't post it now, but I will as soon as I am a bit more free

I don't agree that running polls on just about anything you don't like proves that those things are wrong. Berlusconi gets a lot of votes but this doesn't prove that he is a politician, he still isn't. In fact, the masses of people are ignorant and/or they tend to vote as a "mass" instead of as an individual, so if we'd run polls on everything we'd be screwed. If anything, this poll proves that a good 30% of forum users don't think the forum is dead, which is a high enough percentage to justify its existance.

This thread is the only running thread in this forum. when the games were organized in the main forum they were much more noticable and popular...

Heh, the problem is that games are not organized, not that they aren't popular or visible. Also, the only popular MP threads in the main Forum I remember are those organized to test the beta/prefinal MP version. Then this forum was opened and it was popular. Shortly after, it wasn't anymore. From the consecutio temporum the reason of the inactivity is not to be researched in the forum itself but in the game. It's evident that the MP version didn't have much success, that's all.

as far as I know, there is people who play in local network or hotseat. So, they have no need to post here. Finding someone to play is hard indeed.

I hope to have more time this summer to organise something myself

I didn't say that the MP version is useless, I said that people will notice it more in the main forum.

I myself play it at home with my wife and remotely with my bro often ;)
Problem is that TB games like this are played in MP mostly in LANs. For time reasons. But it is also true that I tried to set up a PBEM and none answered...

i bet RFC would make some fun MP, but alas - i never play MP because im one of those people who hates warcraft/age of empire/starcraft style of "zerg/orc/grunt rush" strategies and thats about all anyone uses.

I agree, I only played 1 MP and it was fun though it would be interesting to see a group of 4 at work.
