I just got a new pc with Windows Vista as the operating system. The hardware is more than adequate, and the first game I bought was Civ 4! It said on the package that it was good for VISTA and it is great!!!

My question is: The WARLORDS expansion doesn't say anything about VISTA. I would like to purchase one I saw, but don't know if it will run on my system? I assume it is, but just wanted to ask someone in the community.

Also, should I purchase WARLORDS in order to play the BEYOND THE SWORDS?

DO NOT BUY WARLORDS you do not need it to play Beyond the Sword it's a huge ripoff. All you get with Warlords that you don't with BtS is the Scenarios which suck.

Thanks for the heads up. It is bts that I was really looking forward to, I just wasn't sure if Warlords was needed as well.

i've just loaded BtS on my new Vista PC and it flies...(don't bother with Warlords as long as you've got BtS).

When I installed Civilization and Warlords (I bought both in the same day) I had some problems, but them I installed the DirectX 9.0c and everything goes fine.

And the graphics are really good.... More than I expected for a strategy game.

You are using Vista? Are you serious? Get rid of them. Burn them. Do what ever you want with them - just don't install them on your PC. Use XP SP2 until Microsoft comes up with something really better.

Just got a new laptop with Vista. Loaded Civ 4 and Warloards, also Blue Marble. Upgrated all up dates for all. The startup video for Civ 4 frezzes up on the start of the Fraixs logo, and on Warlords no video. Sound plays for all. Games plays fine in all respects. I can live with this, but was just woundering what is the glitz. Anyone know?:confused:
