I've been porting some of the Final Frontier graphics into the regular game, as well as the NextWar stuff do basically dish out a whole load of awesome late game.

All works well so far except for one weirdity. I have set Workers to upgrade to Construction Ships (the one from FF), and given all abilities these are meant to be able to go anywhere and do anything.

i.e. they can fly over the ocean to other landmasses, cross mountains etc and can perform all worker functions.

This works great with one exception. The now seem to have the odd knack of being able to build roads in the sea.

I can't for the life of me see if its possible to stop this, short of returning them to being a true land unit, which i don't really want to do.

I can understand that it might not be possible to stop this, as there would be no reason that a land unit could enter the sea, but now I've set these I can't stop them!

Anyone else have any ideas?

I can't see anywhere in the XML which would allow you to specify what types of terrain can have roads. Not in the terrain itself, not in "mission types", not under improvements....

I guess they decided that if a worker could go there it was a reasonable assumption that a road could be built there.

Yeah, this seems to be the problem. I guess this is more than what was expected through modding!

Would it maybe be possible to add a different graphic for roads over different errain types and then dub it a "bridge" :crazyeye:
