View Full Version : Writers For LOTR mod?
NUBIANMERCENARY Nov 24, 2007, 07:46 PM Heya guys, just wondering if yah got the writing done for this mod? I mean copying and pasting from the LOTR books isnt exactly original, but you know, I could help out with some descriptive intro etc...
I could write a short piece if yah want? To prove my writing style blah blah blah, all I need is the setting (where you want the stroy set - Shire, Elven lands etc..) and thats about it!
I excel at English and History which I am studying at college.
So yeah, reply ftw!
Thanks,
thomas.berubeg Nov 24, 2007, 08:03 PM that would be wonderful!
we'll tell you what we need as it comes up,okay :)
NUBIANMERCENARY Nov 24, 2007, 09:04 PM Excellent, I think since the Mod is F*cking awesome, the writing for it might as well be too lolz! :D
I guess I will actually have to become addicted to these forums.. again..
I look forward to writing for this mod,
Cheers!
NUBIANMERCENARY Nov 29, 2007, 02:18 AM Oki dokie, some jobs that need doing:
First off -
Pedia entries. All races (sub-creeds) needed. I have already started on the Elvish creeds, I will also do the pedia entry for the Elves as a whole, and link the different creeds of elves to it etc..
Important - Elves and Men I will try doing first off, then the others.
Second -
Introduction for Mod (left this for second, since I think its only a minor job when compared to the Pedia).
Third -
Any other touch ups for Pedia and stuff, and also anything that is needed.
Please guys, there is a huge amount of writing to do! Anything one with moderate skills at writing, please post on this thread if your willing to help.
Cheers.
Love Nov 29, 2007, 08:25 AM I can do some stuff... Just tell me...
NUBIANMERCENARY Nov 29, 2007, 04:52 PM Ok sweet,
I would need you to start some work on the Race of Men, like all the different creeds, language (variations) and also how they migrated etc... the awakening, major battles.
The format must be like this:
Dates:
Race:
Division:
Pronounciation:
Land(s):
Meaning:
Other names:
Titles:
Description:
Known History:
Language:

Thanks,
P.S - I sent you a PM, please read it Gandhi. Cheers.
Badhron Dec 05, 2007, 07:02 PM I've got a book by Robert Foster "Tolkiens World From A to Z, The Complete Guide to Middle Earth" I could post some passages from it, just tell me what you want.
Sifaus Dec 06, 2007, 05:21 AM anythink i think, races, units (soldiers), buidings, bonuses, terrain types...
->Encyclopedia of Arda
->Tolkiens World From A to Z, The Complete Guide to Middle Earth
->Parma Endorion
->Atlas of Middle Earth
Usefull books :D
Badhron Dec 08, 2007, 09:53 AM How about leaders, are those needed. If you could give me a text file with the entries you need that would be helpful.
Sifaus Dec 09, 2007, 04:52 AM We have leaders but we haven't got "charismatic" pedia infos for all of leaders.
(If you want i can give you atlas of middle earth and parma endorion)
cornerback24 May 19, 2008, 10:53 AM Howdy everybody, I'm new around here, but I'm addicted to the game since I bought Test of Time back in 1999... I never was able to play Civ games at high levels, but I simply love them...
I really enjoyed playing the LOtR civ3 scenario, and I look foward to see the Arda Mod project done. You guys are great...:goodjob:
I wish I could help, but I have no clue of xml, modding and so on..:cry:
I'm going through the threads about the Arda Mod, thou, and maybe I'll try and help around with some ideas, if I'll happen to have any...:rolleyes:
If you guys ever get into developing the italian version of the game, here's your man!!!:D
Keep this thing going, it's gonna be the coolest Mod ever!!!
thomas.berubeg May 19, 2008, 04:18 PM Thanks alot, and welcom to CFC
