I am uncertain whether this is the correct forum to post this, so I apologize if it is not.

I am playing the vanilla version (1.74) on a Mac running Leopard 10.5.1.

Is it possible to modify the game so that it cannot advance further in technology than the Medieval era? I have tried changing the tech costs to huge numbers, but it seems only sufficient to prevent ME from advancing, while the AI soars past me (I don't care HOW MANY great people you have to rush techs, 50 000 turns is a LOT)

So, can this be done, and if so how?

Thanks.

Look at this and see if it can work for you.

Thanks, I hope that mod will work with a mac.

I'm going to buy the PC version when I install windows on my other hard drive to run the Fall From Heaven mod anyway.

Nope, I don't think it works with the mac version. I dropped those folders into the Mods folder but it changed nothing.

How do I either make that mod work with the mac version, or make a mod that will keep things at the Medieval era for the mac version?

Hate to bump this misfiled thread, but I'm in a posting (ie avoiding hard modding work) frenzy. Just cut all the post medieval techs and have FutureTech in place of the Renaissance.
