I hate Vista! :mad: My precious Sim City 4 works on the regions menu but once you try to load a menu it goes black then takes me back to my desktop, can anyone help me?

Try running SC4 in compatibility mode. Right-click on the SC4 exe file, compatibility tab, put a check in "Run this program in compatibility mode for:", and select Windows XP.

Or it could be a compatibility problem between your video card driver and Vista. See if there's an update.

Not likely a problem with Vista, I've played it fine on Vista 64-bit, make sure windows, your video card drivers, and the game are up to date.

Played SC4 with Vista as well, no issues. The screen going black and then crashing to desktop suggests a problem with the graphics drivers.

Well, I tried all of that and it failed to work, it looks like I have a problem wit my graphics card. :sad:

Turns out I just needed the patch, even though it said I already was up to date I went ahead and downloaded it anyway and my problem was fixed.
