About Snakebites:
- I don't think that they're complete just yet. There are a couple of ships undone still. Or won't they be using the kroozer & battlekroozer (which are on my to-do list).

Well, yeah, i was referring to land units, which are 100%. I guess thats a prime example of using statistics to prove anything :p

There are some leaderheads too. And city & building graphics.

Why, would you like to come and help out ;) ?

You wouldn't accept someone who have no spare time to do anymore civ work (than he already does with MEM), but likes to lurk around and keep an eye on development, right?

You mean that - and the following answer by Goldie? Nah, He's just goldie. I wouldn't mind you hanging around, but we certainly would like for the members to actually contribute to the cause - not just hang around for sneak previews ;) (ooh, there's so many cool preview pics in the super secret forums... :mischief: :crazyeye: )

Virote_Considon

Yoda Power
Nov 30, 2007, 07:11 AM
Yes I mean that, and I stand by the comment.

I usually only start to contribute when the playtesting begins. That's what I have done for almost all works I've been involved in.

aaglo
Nov 30, 2007, 07:19 AM
So, if you want to see all the cool preview pics (tsi-hi-hii  ), you propably should re-request the membership. Especially so since Goldy has not taken part in the "development" in several months.

Or if you are only willing to contribute to the playtesting, we welcome you back in a couple of years

Actually you should consider having an open mod discussion instead of this closed one, that has been my (hidden ohh.. :satan:) agenda since my first post.

As you just pointed out, work on this mod has pretty much stopped, except for some units* by you. So far only one mod that uses secret development has been released, and only this week. It has been under way for four years, and the released version is in fact nothing more than a test version anyway.

If you have a public discussion, not hidden away in some secret forum then you get much more attention, and thus much more help, this has been my experience both from this forum and CDG before it was hacked.

I can't help but feel that the desire for private forums stems from a feeling of being "cool" and elitist. But the gained elitism results in lower productivity, and now your "leader" Goldflash has been inactive in months.

I suggest you rethink your modding process, before you continue to make the mistakes of other modders.

(This post was obviously directed at the whole team and not only aaglo.)

We have 4 ork LHs, 2 chaos space marine LHs, and a Space Marine LH, which leaves only, what, 20 more to go? only 15 if you dont include the Eldar.

we also have a couple of buildings and tech icons

I usually only start to contribute when the playtesting begins. That's what I have done for almost all works I've been involved in.
Once we have something to playtest, you are most welcome :)

I have been working slowly on a .biq file and associated images and stuff, but i agree that more work could probably be done if it was public. like getting some people in to make LHs :mischief:

do you think i should PM Thunderfall asking him to make the private forum public, or just transfer all the private threads to the public forum?

Yoda Power
Dec 02, 2007, 09:59 AM
I think you should just open a thread in the C&C forum, and let that be the working thread from now on.

And get rid of the forum.

Stormrage

I`m in for the public part, cos I do my sneaky secret stuff trough PM`s anyway :mischief:

aaglo
Dec 07, 2007, 12:31 AM
I think that opening a thread at main C&C could mess up things more than what they already are.

I think that keeping this Project forum aloft is a good idea, to help keeping things atleast somehow structured. If everything was discussed in only one thread, all discussion would be fragmented. And we don't have defrag in these forums AFAIK :p

I'd just move the private section stuff of this Workshop into the public section, and get rid of the private sub-sub-sub-sub-sub-sub-forum.

Orks aren't 100% yet. Hikaro is making the ork gargant... Or will it be a wonder-produced unit (not available in the unit lines)?

Erm, guys, I`m still here, but as some of you know, I has a cheeseburger I have a new computer, and since I`ve been playing C3C almost exclusively for the last 4 years, I decided that I need a little break. I`m still here, somewhere, I have very little time for any game these days, my store has some furious sales, and I come home very tired.

So anyway, I hope you guys are not mad or something, cos I`m not quitting Civ, I just need a break. (I tried alot of other games when I was ill, everything sucks so much compared to civ ^^, but Oblivion keeps me busy. I was a Morrowind modder before I was a Civ "modder" afterall.

I`ve seen the new units, I absolutely love them :)

See you around, guys. I`ll be bakk.

Hey guys, Utah is running another unit tournament. What units need to be done for the mod? Maybe if a bunch of us request units for the mod Utah might pick one. What do you think?

Stormrage
Jun 29, 2008, 03:30 PM
I requested a Space Marine, mainly for the Poser Props that would grant us. Then we could have very diverse Chapters and Chaos Legions.

EDIT:
Thank you, Dark Crusader, for trying to help, but we don`t even have the Custodes in the Unit Lines! Perhaps request something else, that is on our list? :)

Dark Crusader
Jun 30, 2008, 06:43 PM
I would love to. The list hasn't been updated. I figured we could get intersting props from it. What should I change it to?

Stormrage
Jun 30, 2008, 08:02 PM
Well, what we know of Utah`s expertise, I`d say it should be a foot unit. A Cadian Guardsman? Or a Stormtrooper?

I`d say a Guardsman would be more usefull as we could use the props and the figure to get a whole unit-line of them, unique for the Guard, for both Inquistion factions each and also turn them into traitors for LaTD of course :D

1 unit (with released props) = lots of units :)

The same approach I am taking with the Space Marine. Sure, muffins did some great ones, but they are really hard to modify, since they are not Poser Stuff. If Utah makes the props for the Power armour, think of the posiblities.. Each Legion and Chapter can have their unique appearances, not just colors, but stuff like shoulder pads, tabards for the Crusaders, perhaps even robes for the Dark Angels, crazy bearded helmetless Space Wolfs.. Horned chaos marines, some disgusting textures for the Death Guard, etc.

-*-UPDATED/RESTORED 29th NOVEMBER 2010-*-

The Main Files (http://www.divshare.com/download/13355652-e83)

So, some considerations:
-All civs should now be fully playable.
-The added civs were based upon whoever had completed unit lines, so these civs are:
*The Imperial Guard (Imperium)
*The Ultramarines (Imperium)
*Black Legion (Chaos)
*Evil Sunz (Orks)
*Goffs (Orks)
*Blood Axez (Orks)
*Snakebites (Orks)
*Death Skullz (Orks)
*Bad Moons (Orks)
*Lost and the Damned (Chaos)
-Yes, I do know that most of the leaderheads are Hammurabi. This is because I haven't added any real leaderheads yet!
-The units have been added for all available civs, as have the techs, however, improvements are limited, the advisor screens have not been done, and there are no resources yet.
-I haven't deviated much from the postings on these threads!
-City names currently leave a lot to be desired!
-I dunno what use the "wheeled" flag will have, yet...
-The civs don't have traits yet. This will be decided at a later date, when more have been added...
-The techs don't have any special abilities or diplomatic abilities yet...

I'll probably think of more points later, but as for now, I guess you'll want to have a little play around.

And another update! This one fixes the bug with the aircraft, and increases most Space Marine units cost by approximately 15-20 shields.

One thing I'm thinking of doing is to increase all Space Marine HP by +1, to symbolize one of their abilities in the codex. I forget what it is (my SM codex seems to have gone for walkies ATM), but it's something about not needing to fall back... (someone help me out here )

For the space Marine city name list (I know its a place holder) but how about Command Post Alpha, Command Post Beta, Command Post Gamma... etc, up to Command Post Psi and Command Post Gamma? Would give 24 names for the place holder list instead of one...

I know its early days but the mod looks like it has real potential from what I've seen so far.

Ahm Mr Virote_considon, ive downloaded the main file and the updates n extracted them, when I lunch the scenario it flashes an error while loading that sais there is something missing while reading Pediaicons.text BLDG_ICON_Workshop.
I duno anything about modding but Ive opened the text, found the part and It had
some stuf missing I think, for example the aquaduct BLDG had a part that said single 42 then blablablasmall and blablablalarge, so I copied what was the same with all of them and made a similar blablabla BLDG for workshop small and large, and ive written the 42 and single. Still didnt work, then I looked up the art folder and there wasnt a buildings folder, just a units one, so thats the report on my modding tallent, Come on Big guys help me out what am I to do?

Virote_Considon
Feb 27, 2010, 12:23 PM
Have you extracted the mod wrong? Make sure there isn't a folder called "WH40K" inside your WH40K folder. If there is, cut the one inside, and paste it over the one outside.

It works now, cool mod, but a hell lot of orcs, Its more like 4000Orksmod as it is,
As for by best wishes, make a Thousand sons civ please, Its not a hell lot to do,
someone already started the rubric marines, and the rest is chaos type anyway so lots of units can be shared for a start, some modification on the dreadnought, spells and the Lord of change can be imported from WHfantasy mod, and youd make a lot of good people very happy.
As for the guy that made the orks, GREAT job, but theres more of a colour than just green.

PS The previously abandoned Thousand sons mod for DOW is revived and almost complete,
RelicNewsforum is the place the guys work and share at.

Right, guys, big problem (for now, at least)

A while back, I was alerted to the fact that the pre-alpha couldn't be downloaded. I decided to wait a while to see how things played out (i.e., I thought it may just be a temporary problem). Since then, I've been pretty busy all summer. Anyway, I just tried downloading it again, and it still isn't working.

The problem is, I don't really have a way of re-uploading it at the moment. The computer which it is stored on currently has no access to the internet (I think my cheap wireless thing has finally all but packed itself in), and this weekend I'm going back to university, which means although my connection will be better (since I use a wired connection there), I'm not too sure on how busy I'm going to be in my first few weeks back (although saying that, it could very much be the case that I'll be able to fit in internet time when I get back - better to be cautious, etc.)

So anyway, what shall be done? Should I upload the files to somewhere else? (And if so, where? Sites like Rapidshare with a download limit aren't really possible to use at uni since everyone is constantly downloading/uploading stuff, thereby making sure that even if I did manage to get through and upload the files, maintenance will be a problem) Would anyone else be able to mirror them, so that even if the link stops working again, there would be more than one alternative?

Tank_Guy#3

You MIGHT be able to upload it at Storm Over Civilization. I would talk to BadKharma or MarineCorps if you had questions.

How about you make the mod's unit availabilaty pyramid style, I mean like this:

You can build a Seargint only if you have produced 5 marines,
you can build a predator only if you have produced 2 seargents,
you can build a Landraider only if you have 4 predators, or something like that,
you can build a whirlwind only if you have 2 devastator squads.......
acordingly to each race. This is going to solve the problem of haveing only landraiders or only Deamonprinces swarming the map at the middle of the game, This is gona feel like war! Oppinions???

P.S Or just put reasonable limits to anything except infantry, cause haveing 120 Orc bosses, you know....

LizardmenRule!
Mar 11, 2011, 10:41 PM
Heroes (i.e Librarian, Nobz, etc.) and Champions (i.e Chaplains, Warbosses) are most likely going to be spawned from wonders, so that can't happen

unfortunately, I don't believe there is a way of making units a prerequisite for other units

Virote_Considon

Asp-Sorcerer
Mar 14, 2011, 03:50 PM
Maybe Vihecles such as landraiders, n heroes sould be "spawned" from small wonders that everybody can build, or from specific high cost buildings, but deffinetely spawned, cause if you remeber civ3 warhammer fantasy mod, a great mod realy, but at the later stages of the game it is filled only with dragons, great deamons and so on, please try to figure something out to evade that problem, would be great, and you'd add something new to the game, At least I havent seen many civ mods that bothered to find a way around this problem.
