View Full Version : Please help me fix my Java thingy! ggganz Dec 04, 2007, 07:51 PM I can't join any chat channel in the CFC java thingy. I really have no idea what to do. HALP NOW! Comraddict Dec 04, 2007, 08:37 PM http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp ggganz Dec 04, 2007, 08:46 PM Guess I should have been more specific. I always get to this part, and still do after downloading that, and it never goes any further. http://img376.imageshack.us/img376/1923/chatshotnt5.jpg stickciv Dec 04, 2007, 09:16 PM Use a normal client: mIRC xChat Pidgin The first two have a trial period, and Pidgin is fully free ggganz Dec 04, 2007, 10:22 PM mIRC: I AM NOT PAYING TO CHAT! AND I'VE TRIED IT AND IT DOESN'T WORK ANYWAY, BECAUSE #FIFTYCHAT IS NOT IN THE CHANNEL LIST, AND WHEN I JOIN #FIFTYCHAT I GO TO AN EMPTY CHANNEL, LIKE I'M NOT ON THE RIGHT SERVER! NO! xChat: NO WAY! THIS PROGRAM WAS INTENDED FOR PORNO WEBCAMS! NO! Pidgin: YAY IT WORKS, THANKS! YES! stickciv Dec 04, 2007, 10:56 PM mIRC: I AM NOT PAYING TO CHAT! AND I'VE TRIED IT AND IT DOESN'T WORK ANYWAY, BECAUSE #FIFTYCHAT IS NOT IN THE CHANNEL LIST, AND WHEN I JOIN #FIFTYCHAT I GO TO AN EMPTY CHANNEL, LIKE I'M NOT ON THE RIGHT SERVER! NO! That would be because you didnt spend less than 5 minutes configuring it. Plus, you might have possibly joined vos.irc-chat.net which is still broken. kcwong Dec 05, 2007, 07:54 AM In case you still want to fix the Java version... Guess I should have been more specific. I always get to this part, and still do after downloading that, and it never goes any further. http://img376.imageshack.us/img376/1923/chatshotnt5.jpg My first guess is your Firewall blocked it. Otherwise, click Start Menu | Settings | Control Panel | Java Advanced tab Expand Java Console node Select Show Console Press OK With that the Java Console will appear. There might be debug messages that help us find out what was wrong. ggganz Dec 05, 2007, 10:41 AM Noep!!!1 I like Pidgin way better. :thanx: Oh, and about xChat, I think that it's just because I went to xchat.com instead of xchat.org. Oh well, Pidgin works fine for me. again: :thanx:. ggganz Dec 06, 2007, 09:15 PM AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!!!!!! !!!:aargh: Pidgin stopped working, can't figure out why. It can't connect to irc.irc-chat.net for some reason. And did you try reinstalling Pidgin? ggganz Dec 06, 2007, 09:53 PM I did have a problem w/ my video card, which I fixed, and I'll try re-installing after I try another idea that I have.... ggganz Dec 06, 2007, 10:13 PM And your idea and my idea both didn't work. :P I can think of NO OTHER WAY to use it. (don't even mention Chatzilla, it's so weird). Oh, and I DID try xChat (the real one) and it is too complicated for me to figure out. Please, after Pidgin helped me I started to enjoy #fiftychat again! |
