lutzj Dec 04, 2007, 08:36 PM Are you running State Property or Mercantilism?
Verge Dec 04, 2007, 08:39 PM Are you running State Property or Mercantilism?
And have you researched Corporation?
Refar Dec 05, 2007, 02:19 AM He's teching Radio, so i will just assume he researched corporation^^ The prereq for Sushi is medicine, cereal mills is - i think - refrigeration.
KMadCandy Dec 05, 2007, 03:30 AM and he's the only one left . so, very likely he's in merc, since there are no foreign trade routes, or state property, since he's spread out all over the map.
under SP corps have no effect at all so you can't found 'em. under merc foreign corps have no effect, but you still can't even found your own (altho you can spread any that exist already), which i think is a bug but that's how it is. Bhruic's unofficial patch does let you found them under merc.
CHEESE! Dec 05, 2007, 07:15 AM Yeh- im a loser like that. Its just so FUN to rule the world
Immortal rush owns u all!
KMadCandy Dec 05, 2007, 07:39 AM loser? pshaw! you won the game, and there's a "one more turn" option for a reason ... because it's fun sometimes! it's a game, play the way that's fun for you. my motto is "never mind what the sane people think" :crazyeye:
signed, anonymous, who made a Future Start game specifically to see what late-game wars are like, turned off all victories other than dom and conquest. and didn't end up declaring war until after 2050 AD :mischief:. i just really can't work out that whole "rush" concept
Spaced out Dec 05, 2007, 09:52 AM Thats the annoying thing about mercantilism. It states that foreign corporations have no effect yet it won't allow you to found your own domestic corps.
Don't know if you can build executives while in mercantilism as once I switch to free market to found sushi i stay there.
Bushface Dec 05, 2007, 06:54 PM KMad - if "dom" is on, there's no point in also turning on "conq" which you can't achieve without first passing the "dom" level. It'd be nice, though, if after gatting a dom win you could choose to go on for conq and, probably, a bigger score.
Personally, "dom" doesn't atract me. All that PVC and whips . . .
Walliard Dec 05, 2007, 07:38 PM He's teching Radio, so i will just assume he researched corporation^^
Radio requires Electricity, which requires Physics, which requires Astronomy/Sci. Method...
Nowhere in there do I see Corporation.

Sure there is. Conquest can be just a matter of razing city after city, which I have done on a number games.

*giggle* Verge guessed it. i was razing cities, so i never did end up with 70% or whatever land. hatty's cities weren't worth keeping once i'd nuked them :mischief:. she didn't nuke mine, since she had no uranium. she did build the manhattan project tho. quite convenient. idiotic of her, but convenient.

Actually, they're independent of each other. Conquest means being the only civilization left on the face of the Earth. Domination means controlling a certain percentage of the world's population and land area. By simply razing empire after empire, one can conquer the world without being considered to have dominated. Depends on how you wanted to win, I guess...if you simply wanted to just kill everybody off, or control the vast majority of the world. It is possible to dominate without conquering, and also to conquer without dominating (the latter seems weird, I know...)
