I would like to know how win with Kanka Musa on the Earth 18 civ map. I'm playing emperor/immortal (it is unless so easy). Problems are health, jungles and deserts and the lack of copper/iron/food. I have to whip workers and settlers but when i get my fourth city i loose the tech race. I'm first from 4000BC to 100BC and after i'm falling and falling...

Is somebody has a winning strategy ?

Is this a serious question? First you say that you are playing emperor/immortal because otherwise it would be too easy and now you complain it is too difficult.:confused:

I never said it was too difficult i asked for a strategy because i cannot think all of them and perhaps somebody get one i don't find...

I tryed to attack Spain and i get Madrid but this strategy make me loose some turns and the result is not as good as i supposed... Thank you very much to answer me :goodjob:

Try a lower difficulty setting? Or don't settle that fourth city so quickly?

Settle the iron in Morocco and rush Spain.... or , in alternative, skirmisher rush to Egypt.

I don't have any specific strategies for the Earth 18 Civ map, but I always try to cottage spam my way to a space or culture win with Mansa Musa. His unique building, the mint, is very nice: it gives you more money, something that helps quite a lot when dealing with aggressive expansion. Iron Working (to cut jungles), Construction (aqueducts and the Hanging Gardens), and Guilds (grocers) will help bring healthiness to your cities. Also, don't forget that settling by rivers will give you a health bonus. Furthermore, harbors will bring healthiness to your coastal cities.

Without copper or iron, I would wait until catapults to attack anyone. You could also use Drill Skirmishers, but that's awfully risky beyond the first few turns.

Sorry I can't help you with any specific advice, as I don't play scenarios.

Kanka Musa is Mansa Musa. From a recent history channel show I saw, Kanka Musa is what he is known as locally; Kanka is his mother's clan/family name, or something like that. Mansa is a word that means Prince. He is reviled, actually, by some of the local people, and you can actually get in trouble for speaking about him. Something about impoverishing the country by taking all the gold on pilgrimage to mecca.

The Mali Civ is built to dominate research.

Expand slower.
Build libraries and add two scientist specialists in every city.
Trade tech early to focus your research path.
If nearest neighbor has copper/iron attack! In fact, attack anyway.

Yeah, he is right, Kanka Musa is what his real name was. I saw the same History channel special about recovering Tumbuktu, it was fascinating!

I think I'll will rush for elephant (taking agriculture and potery before) ...
Then built cata and elephant and go after Egypt and arabians ... then I'll pause war for a long time and focus to come back in the science race ...
