The Group name is "Civfanatics"
The password is "Thunderfall"
I went but did not see--JHC, theres like 600 bowl leagues!
RedFusion Dec 07, 2007, 11:58 PM Sorry about that. I should have been more clear in the instructions.
Kraznaya Dec 08, 2007, 12:08 AM Awesome, confidence points. Now I can pick with a clear conscience. :D
pawpaw Dec 09, 2007, 06:21 PM Quess I can't do this, refuses to let me in. I belong already but it is rejecting my password and when I request a new one nothing happens.:(
Kraznaya Dec 09, 2007, 06:24 PM Is it rejecting your yahoo password or group password?

augurey Dec 10, 2007, 07:06 AM That was a headache....
Darkness Dec 10, 2007, 08:17 AM added my supremely confident guesses, which are in no way hindered by any knowledge of college football, outside of the fact that Hawai should've played in the BCS title game... ;)
pawpaw Dec 10, 2007, 09:16 AM That was a headache....
Strange but opening a second acount was so much easier than the first........
Fetus4188 Dec 10, 2007, 10:46 AM Submitted.

No, just looking into each bowl. I didn't know much about many of the teams. Spent a few hours on it.
mrt144 Dec 10, 2007, 11:18 AM Picked and ready to go.
Darkness Dec 10, 2007, 12:13 PM No, just looking into each bowl. I didn't know much about many of the teams. Spent a few hours on it.
You did?
I just guessed... :)
tcjsavannah Dec 10, 2007, 01:44 PM In like Matt Flynn.
Kraznaya Dec 10, 2007, 03:18 PM No, just looking into each bowl. I didn't know much about many of the teams. Spent a few hours on it.
I just went with vegas odds/gut feeling on the ones that I had no clue....
Fetus4188 Dec 10, 2007, 03:25 PM You guys are wimps. If I didn't know I just decided which name sounds better. That's how a man decides.

I just picked against the B 10
Fetus4188 Dec 10, 2007, 04:13 PM More or less the same thing :p
mrt144 Dec 10, 2007, 05:13 PM I'll tell you my strategy after the games begin.
pawpaw Dec 10, 2007, 05:49 PM I'll tell you my strategy after the games begin.
You can admitt it now--you picked against the B 10 too :mischief:
Kraznaya Dec 10, 2007, 06:09 PM You can admitt it now--you picked against the B 10 too :mischief:
You would've picked against ND too, only they didn't make a bowl. :p
I did pick Cal and Oregon even though there was a giant sucking sound of their seasons being ripped apart, but you can imagine how many (or few) confidence points I assigned to them.
mrt144 Dec 10, 2007, 06:18 PM You can admitt it now--you picked against the B 10 too :mischief:
 there is more to it than that.
Azale Dec 10, 2007, 06:35 PM Rutgers will break Ball State.
BREAK THEM.
Kraznaya Dec 10, 2007, 06:41 PM Rutgers will break Ball State.
BREAK THEM.
Ball State lit up Nebraska! Oh wait...
pawpaw Dec 10, 2007, 06:43 PM You would've picked against ND too, only they didn't make a bowl. :p
Ouch, use some KY next time
augurey Dec 10, 2007, 11:44 PM You can admitt it now--you picked against the B 10 too :mischief:
I took Indiana, Penn State and OSU (though low on confidence if I have to be truthful....)
dgfred Dec 11, 2007, 09:16 AM I'm skipping these picks, I think I will enjoy the games more if I don't really care which teams win ;) .
Only one really means anything to me:
GO WAKE!!! :D
Kraznaya Dec 11, 2007, 11:39 AM Ouch, use some KY next time
I can't think of a witty reply to this that isn't excessively demeaning to Notre Dame or the Big-10, so I'm just going to mentally instate that you are the cute anime girl in your avatar. Yeah. :mischief:
I'm skipping these picks, I think I will enjoy the games more if I don't really care which teams win .
Or you can always pick and forget what you did 5 minutes later. For example, I can't even remember if I picked for or against Penn State and Indiana.

I'm very competitive  , I just can't/don't forget :mischief: .

I picked Meechigan from the Big 10 and that's it. Okie Light over IU, USCies over the Zookies, LSU over OSU, Central Michigan over Purdue, The Boston Catholics over Sparty, the Vols over Wisco and whoever is playing Penn State over Penn State.
So much for redeeming the Big 10's cred.
RedFusion Dec 12, 2007, 10:33 AM Almost everyone is picking against the Big 10.
LSU 74% OSU 26%
USC 88% Illinois 12%
Tenn 72% Wisky 28%
Florida 87% Michigan 13%
Okla St. 76% Indiana 24%
These are good upset picks, like Indiana over Okie State (they lost to Troy of all teams!).
The only ones favored are Penn State over TAMU and Purdue over Central Michigan

Well Purdue vs Central wasn't hard--they played this year and Purdue beat the crap out of them.
Tomoyo Dec 12, 2007, 05:08 PM Doesn't Central Michigan have that super-spread quarterback LeFevre? He could catch the game of his life.
RedFusion Dec 20, 2007, 09:05 AM Remember, today is the first Bowl game. If you haven't submitted your picks yet, you need to do so today.
pawpaw Dec 21, 2007, 08:40 AM Will there be a "running" standings?
RedFusion Dec 21, 2007, 11:53 AM What do you mean by "running" standings?
tcjsavannah Dec 21, 2007, 02:10 PM If you look at the 'group' section on your picks, it will show the top points standings. Like right now, RF is first because he assigned a 24 confidence to Utah/Navy.

Well I can't look, it refuses to let me sign in again--bad password-so f*ck it
RedFusion Dec 21, 2007, 03:49 PM I'll post the standing periodically to get you updated then.
Kraznaya Dec 21, 2007, 05:34 PM I forgot to change my pick after the Navy coach left. :(
It seems a lot of people didn't fool around with the standings. Quite a few people only got 1 point.
RedFusion Dec 22, 2007, 09:28 AM Yeah, I'm the only one that seems to put any big points on the line with these first couple games. I was really shocked to see how little people put into the FAU-Memphis game considering how much of a favorite FAU seemed to be.
Kraznaya Dec 22, 2007, 12:39 PM 67% of Yahoo picked Memphis  , including 1/2 of the "experts", and FAU was only a 2 point favorite in Vegas.
Maybe everybody else just doesn't have the inside info track that RF is buying into ;)
Anyway I still wuv FAU, they launched me into 3rd.
augurey Dec 22, 2007, 04:58 PM I forgot to move my FAU pick up. I had it worth 2.
I'm 3 of 3 and my Cincinnati pick just netted me 31 :goodjob:
Look to loose my Nevada pick... but it's worth 1 so....

I love NewMex, I think I'm second now because of them. :D
EDIT: I'm not sure whether I want BYU or UCLA. I got 10 on BYU but on the other hand a lot of people in the group put their heart and soul into BYU so UCLA losing won't hurt me as much as it'll hurt some...

No inside info, I just looked at the two teams and how they have performed this year...that made it quite obvious who would win. The Vegas line would have been higher had it not been FAU's first bowl appearance EVER.

Nyeh. No loss. It was my lowest confidence pick, so good bye one point.
augurey Dec 23, 2007, 07:43 PM Oh man, Boise St is looking bad... and everyone put a lot of confidence on that game.
Kraznaya Dec 23, 2007, 08:00 PM If Boise loses, that can heavily influence my Hawaii-Georgia pick.
augurey Dec 23, 2007, 08:03 PM If Boise loses, that can heavily influence my Hawaii-Georgia pick.
You gave Hawaii a shot?
God, Boise keeps looking worse by the minute.... Half way through the second and in negative yardage! Not one first down!

augurey Dec 23, 2007, 11:56 PM Anyone get East Carolina right?
augurey Dec 24, 2007, 12:00 AM Anyone get East Carolina right?
Nope. Top pick for many of us too.
Fetus4188 Dec 24, 2007, 01:10 AM Woo. I'm on a roll.
LLXerxes Dec 24, 2007, 11:24 AM What station was that game on? Looks like I keep missing out on all the exciting games on tv.
Tomoyo Dec 24, 2007, 12:02 PM Wasn't it on ESPN?
Red Door Dec 26, 2007, 12:48 PM I officially hate East Carolina.

Yaar I be knowin' what that be.
And 9/21 is brutal. That's what I get for picking the underdog. Doesn't help that I picked Ball State and Michigan.
Azale Jan 01, 2008, 12:37 PM Gah, I have two more correct than RF but trail by 60+ :(
EDIT: Although I still have my biggest points on the lines in the International, Sugar, and National Championship games so I have a chance.
augurey Jan 01, 2008, 01:06 PM Third to Ninth. WTF.
LLXerxes Jan 01, 2008, 01:37 PM I put 31 on Texas Tech over Virginia. Azale, where is your Big 12?
tcjsavannah Jan 01, 2008, 02:27 PM I've been impressed with Michigan today, LLXerxes. They're playing with emotion and Florida is playing like the immature team they've been at times throughout the year.

Thank you. Florida has a lot of potential but Michigan is just inspired. Remember when this was supposed to be a preview of the national championship game?
Can Carr retire every game?
EDIT: Harvin is a beast.
tcjsavannah Jan 01, 2008, 02:45 PM Yeah, I don't agree with Craig James much, but he's right when he talks about Henne+Arrington+Manningham being a dangerous threesome that can make plays on anyone in the country. Which, of course, begs the question.. what happened? Manningham was hurt for part of the year, right?

Manningham was suspended for a game but after that had like six straight games with 100+ yards.
Hart hasn't fumbled since October of 2004. What a time to start over. :(
What IS surprising is how much Michigan is trash talking in this game. They never do that. Mike Hart, yes, and I don't like it when he does it at all, but we're not Florida State.
augurey Jan 01, 2008, 02:59 PM Hart hasn't fumbled since October of 2004. What a time to start over. :(
Twice today, both times inside the 5. He should be furious with himself, not laughing at his hands like the first time.
fake punt :! Not getting desperate are ya, Urban?
LLXerxes Jan 01, 2008, 03:01 PM Just like that it goes from 35-21 to 28-28.

Yes, I liked Michigan's inspired play... but I can't stand that trash talking no
matter which team does it :cringe: .
RedFusion Jan 04, 2008, 07:59 AM Nobody else on Michigan even needs to say anything with how much Mike Hart runs his mouth.
RedFusion Jan 06, 2008, 09:00 PM With Tulsa's win I will clinch Victory in the Bowl pick'em. I'll have 387 points with just the Championship to go and the next closest person will only be able to get 386 regardless of the final game.
Fetus4188 Jan 07, 2008, 02:54 AM I was just a UCLA field goal from winning.
