I tried to start a few games the past few days, Large map with Amurites and I always ended up with a rather iffy start.
One of the problems was a lot of forests around my starting spot, which I thought was just bad luck. It turns out it's a bad design by Firaxis, as evidenced by this thread (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=252429).
Now, in regular BtS it's not that much of a problem, but in FfH, your workers cost more, chopping takes a whole lot longer to research, ... Okay, FfH settlers have a few extra moves, but I don't think it totally makes up for it.
I don't really think anything can be done about it by the FfH team, I just thought it'd be interesting for people to know in case they only read this part of the forum.
