I haven't played CivIV in a long time and was thinking of getting BtS for Christmas, so I decided to install vanilla to get some practice. But for some reason it won't, even though I never had this problem before. I realized it must be the installer itself, because it simply doesn't start. All I get is InstallShield copying its files into C:/ProgramFiles/CommonFiles and then going dead. I tried deleting all of those and I checked that there are no traces from my previous installation as advised in one of the older posts. I know the problem is not with the CD. Any other suggestions! There will be no point in getting BtS if I can't install anything. Aargh!

Edit: Wow, I solved it in the weirdest way possible. If I click 'cancel' before the installer is installed it actually appears for a moment and I can click 'next'. Good to know.
