So a pop up... popped up and it said that I may have virus', usually I avoid these, but this time it looked real enough, and indeed it may have been, so I DLed it (for free) and now its pop ups gallore with this annoying little bubble coming up all the time telling me I have spyware. Well, it may be real and I may have to buy the real thing, as it seems to want me, but the hell if I do that. So how do I get rid of this, I've already deleted several files of what I thought was the problem, but they haven't ceased. What can I do?

Sounds like you downloaded some malware, when you thought you were solving a problem.
If you have a genuine copy of windows download Windows Defender and run a scan. Also, get an free updated virus scan, like Avast or AVG and run a scan.
If those fail try Spybot Search and Destroy. I've never used it but I hear it works very well.

Why do people fall for these
Install Ad-Aware, scan, install Spybot, scan, install HijackThis and save a log

If the above advice fails google to find people with the same problem - hopefully you'll run across a malware remover specifically designed for whatever it is you infected your computer with.

A suggestion, use Firefox with the No-Script and Ad-Block extensions.
