I watched MSNBC right now and they say PM Benazir Bhutto of Pakistan has died, I confirmed it by looking at Good Morning America... Pakistan will now go to a dictatorship, the last hope of Pakistan died...

She was never a good leader and corrupted when she held the reins of power. Her death affects things, but i would hate it if after her death she suddenly becomes celebrated as a force for good.

The media typically works the "lesser of two evils" thing. I.E., President Mussharraf is a good leader because he's a secular ruler rather than an Islamic hardliner, etc.

No leader's perfect, anyway. Franklin D. Roosevelt, typically thought of as America's greatest president (and I agree), also interred American citizens of Japanese ancestry against their will in camps and sought to avoid judicial oversight by expanding the Supreme Court, so he could appoint justices who wouldn't find his New Deal proposals unconstitutional. Lincoln suspended habeas corpus during the Civil War, and his famous Emancipation Proclamation in fact only freed the slaves in the seceding states; there were several Union states during the war that still had slaves legally.
