ive been playing the civ 3 game now for over 6 months and lately ive been tring to expand my game with new units and mods ,but i cant get it to work ,i need help with downloading the files into the right place ,i have files for for units im lost and frustrated from there, maybe its my a.d.d, if anyone can help or offer advice ,please

First read the readmes if they have them but remember they may be wrong.

Add new folders in the ..\Civilization III\Art\Units folder for each unit then unzip the files into them, rename the folders to the same name on the INI file.
If it has a units_32.pcx paste it into the end of the units_32.pcx in ..\Civilization III\Art\Units.
If it has UnitLarge.pcx and UnitSmall.pcx copy them to ..\Civilization III\Art\Civilopeda\Units.
In Civ3MultiTool or a hacked Civ3Edit add a unit with the same name.
Change the icon to the one you added to units_32.pcx.
Change the stats to what you want
