I've just edited the map scenario 'Earth 18 civs', just replacing the existing leaders in the heading of the file with blank slots so I could play my favorite civ/random starting locations.

However, I absolutely swear that all civs, whoever they are, are starting in one of the old scenario's starting locations. It's rediculous. I started a game as Mehmed, and I ended up where Madrid usually is, and next to me is a city where Paris usually is, and across the channel is Brennus sitting on London's usual location.. the nile is occupied next to the marble and stone, and etc, etc.

I can't find anything in the map file that would do this. What gives?

No, I haven't given any x/y coordinates to my blank slots.

Find the x/y of the plot number you start on (either hold down ALT or SHIFT, one of those keys) then look up that plot in the WBS. There will probably be a tag called "Starting plot" or something. Delete it. :)

Put a copy of the map here, so someone might take a look at it!!

Dale's advice did it. 'StartingPlot' in any plot info block'll make the map prefer that one, I guess.. :)

However, as for uploading it, since I figure folks might want a no-starting locations/no specified civs huge earth map.. it's 715 kb, and the site won't let me. How?
