Hi

Soon, I'll have recycle all my Final Frontier LH, and it will be the time to create something real. I've already began to model a high resolution face that will probably be used as a new Alexander (my plan is to create a new Alexander and to reuse his mesh for his father Philippe). The model is far from being complete, it is only a primaly stage preview, but here is a screenshot of the progress.

Note that it will be improved a lot before to be relased.

Horever, I need a collaborater for one thing. I do not have problem with the modeling (and I do a high resolution modeling, so the normal map will be a real calculated normal map like the vanilla LH) but I would need help on the rigging and animating phase. So I look for an animator. I know animators are rare, so in fact, I only look for someone who have rigging experience and that would be able to Rig this guy (or other guy that I will model) to an existing armature. If someone want to give him custom animaion too, it's fine, but first of all I look more for a simple rigging job.

So, is there someone that is interested ?

I'll take a look if you like. I've not begun yet to work with leaderheads, But I'd like to think I could rig anything. :)

Ok, let me work on this a bit and I'll send the files to you after. Will you do the job in Blender or 3ds Max ?

C., Winddelay works with max. I can tell you for sure. I see this collaboration fruitfull.

Yup, sniperrabbits got it right... I've got max7-9, but the civtools only work right on 7-8.

Nice !

I'll finish the thing this week and I'll send it to you.

Will you rig it to an actual vanilla leader armature ? Or you will create your own set of animation with your own armature ?

I can't actually create my own anims without the ec codes for export and timing info. I'll sniff around in the animation files and see if I can get the codes, but to start off i'll most likely rig to the LH that best fits the shape of the new model and has anims close to what you're looking for. It doesn't have to be vanilla... it could be warlords, bts, or FF if one of those would better fit.

Ok. I think Ploperpengel can provide you the codes and an exemple file in a max format of a leader if you want to make your custom animation, but if you prefer to begin with a simplier rigging, it's fine. I think we should choose a bts anim set (because I'm tired to see the vanilla anims, its always those animations that we see on custom LH).

Also, I will only ask you to rig the face, not the body so it will easier and less longer to do. For the body, I'll only add the mesh to the torso node in Nifskope.

Still isn't complete...

That is what my alex looked like, but maybe I'll give you something else to rig if you don't mind. Well... I don't know, what do you think ? Alex or a ancient female leader ?

I do have my own alexander that I messed with but I have problems with making realistic looking hair.

As for rigging. We need more females.

Your hair need more contrast.

For the rigging, we'll go for the girl.

Ok Ek,

I have a first version of the girl head ready to be rigged. I'm now working on the high resolution maps and on the hair. She will have long hair, so that's why she didn't have ears. I haven't decided who she will be, if you have any proposition, you can tell because I'll need to know it soon, specialy for the cloth. Maybe Teuta, maybe Zenobia, maybe someone else, I'm open to sugestions.

You can rig it to the skeleton that you want. I don't know wich anim you would like, maybe an anim from BtS would be cool because we don't see those often. Tell me what anim you want for her, and after you can start to rig her. Check Bernie's tut if you need help and if you have some questions, ask me, I'm really happy that you are willing to do this for me.

Thanks again for your help !

 that face has way more polygons than I've ever seen on a civ4 leaderhead!

shold we decide on a leadertexture to work with. that way i can map it and identify the parts easier.

It's a bit more polys than vanilla, but not too much.

The texture isn't a problem, don't worry about texture I do it, What I need, it's a good riging, you only have to aasign verticles to bones based on a already made rigging of an other LH.
