Here's a list of some of the best football players playing in Europe born in 1986 or later. I don't know non European leagues well enough to include other players.

My top 3 is:
1 Messi
2 Cesc
3 Benzema

American football please abstain.

It's difficult to draw a line between "promising" and "already on their way up to the top".

People like Messi, Fabregas or Sergio Ramos definitly belong to the second category.

So my vote goes to Bojan Krkic

I agree, Messi (he came second in voting for best UEFA player) and Fabregas are already there. I think Pato is the next great enigma from Brazil. How good will he be? Will he be starting on the nationial selection by the time of the world cup?

What Messi's been doing at his age is unbelieveable indeed. But history is full of young players being fantastic and ending up being average after 1 or 2 great years. Remember Saviola for example. Cesc on the other hand still has a long way to go, but the sky's the limit for him.

He is Zidane's son?Interesting he is moving like Zidane. And more physically strong than Muhammet, even he is younger. He may be a better player.
