Hey guys

I'm not very good with my latin (except where it is used in science), so am curious about the Ashen Veil music. The Ashen Veil "full" music file is very cool and effective in portraying the veil.

Could anyone translate the chanting for me?

If you can somehow find the lyrics and I find this thread again, I'll give it a shot (with poor results, I'm sure). Four years of Latin (two at Latin Academy) have to come in handy at some point.

I haven't played as the Ashen Veil in quite a while, and I very rarely even have the sound on. I didn't even realize was in Latin (I don't think most of the songs even have any words), but when I have time to play again I'll try to see what its saying. It would be easier to translate if written out.

I haven't taken Latin in a couple years (it isn't offered at my college), but I did get a perfect 5 on the AP exam (Vergil's The Aeneid, Latin Lit. wasn't offered) and read from he Vulgate pretty often.

I always play with bts\mods\fall from heaven 030\blahblah on and on\soundtrack as the custom music folder in options

The sound clip in question (Ashen Veil Full) is taken from the Enya song "Pax Deorum."

The line "domine o venite o sacramentum (disces m)eo deo" apparently translates to something like "lord o come o sacrament (you) learn of/from my god."

nah, she says "domineo veniteo" but only to make a rhyme with "meo deo". In the refrain you can clearly hear the text is: "domine venite sacramentum meo deo". I don't know why they invented "disces" is inferred.
Domine Venite is exhortative and means "Come oh Lord", although she uses 2nd person plural for the verb which is more medieval than classic.
Sacramentum meo deo kinda means "oath (it is the kind of oath you make to Gods, not in tribunals etc) to my Lord". I say kinda because it's not a full sentence, but then again it's just the refrain of a song in 2 not quite well known languages...
