I have the retail version of Civilization 4 Gold. How am I supposed to patch this? Do I use the original Civ4 patch, or the Warlords patch? I've tried downloading Warlords patches 2.08 and 2.13 but both claim I have no versions of Warlord installed. Also - is there any way to determine the current version of my game without actually booting up the game? Any advice would be greatly appreciated :) Thank you.

gold should not need patching, both Vanilla and Warlords are patched to 1.74 and 2.13 respectively there. You'd need to have logging enabled to check that without booting, since that parses the version into the init.log - but I don't think that happens without changes in the .ini files...

I'm relieved to hear I don't have to patch this. I only asked about the version info because I don't currently have the CD on me. I'm heading home later on today, so no worries. Thanks for the help!
