I just recently installed my game Civ 4. For some odd reason it is almost done loading when the whole thing closes and a box pops up saying: Video Runtime Error etc. If anybody has some good ideas, I'm open to suggestions.

what kind of graphics card do you have? also did you patch the game? what operating system?

I'm not sure what kind of graphic's card I have. How do you find out? I did patch it with the v1.52 or something like that.

click start -> run -> type dxdiag -> hit enter -> click on save results in the popup
then
here click on go advanced below the reply box -> click on manage attachments -> attach the dxdiag results (its a text file)

This will tell among others what card you have and how old your drivers are...

Ok thanks. It is a Sis 650 Rev 00, with a memory of 32mb

does it have any shared memory? if not - 32 MB are below the game's minimum requirements (http://www.2kgames.com/civ4/support_msr.htm) - and this game definitely does not run below it minimum requirements :sad:
