Just a dumb idea I was kicking around with a friend the other day, but kind of like how each civ gets a unique unit, maybe the civs should (Ideally, I'm not saying anyone should rush out and implelement this idea) each get some sort of unique national unit. (Not, say, the national units like crossbowmen and knights, that each civ gets) each one representing a unique "elite force" that would be dedicated to the ideals of the civs. I.E. Amurites would get some sort of mage, Lanun a superpirate (a ship that could raid on land maybe?) the girgori some sort of superadaptive unit, etc.

So, how stupid an idea is it?

Each civ already has a national hero.

Idea is not worse then many others but I think it is wrong for this subforum. ;) Maybe if you already have a ready mod-mod with this idea implemented...

Yeah, each civ already has a national hero, and they're basically just like you described :P Amurites get Govannon(a mage), Lanun get The Black Wind(a pirate ship with hero promotion), the Grigori get adventurers which are as adaptive as you can get, etc...

I'm thinking I'll eventually add a hero for each combination of civ and religion (well, the more interesting ones at least) to my modmod.
