So I was playing singleplayer on warlords, and had 45 turns remaining. But decided to start a separate new game for fun. The problem is now the old saved game won't load at all, it just stays stuck at "Finishing..."
Infact none of my old saves will load.
Please help. :)

have you installed any patches? if so theres your problem

I'm having the exact same problem. The game usually freezes at "Finishing..." (not always, but the longer into the game the more often, right now I'd guesstimate 50-80% of the time) and I have to use PowerStrip to reset the VGA adapter and then terminate the Civ4 process using the task manager (before I started using PowerStrip the only option was to reboot). So you're saying it's caused by using the latest patch (I'm using 2.13, Warlords)? If so, why was it issued?

this is certainly not caused by 2.13 - I believe he alludes to the fact that patches sometimes break savegame compatibility with saves made in older versions. But this did not happen for the Warlords patches. Anyhow: is there any common thing in the saves that don't work?
