I'm not totally new to CIV IV, and reading some of the dissusions on various threads and gaining tips on how to play better, ive noticed that making dot maps can help with city placement. What i really want to know is what programs are players using.

Im running vista and dont want to use prtscreen, plus the vista snipping tool i dont think you can use with the game running. I've also run a search and havent found what im looking for.

if you hit prntscreen (or prnt) on your keyboard ingame the game automatically saves the screen in the my games/<game name>/screenshots directory - most people go from there and use some iteration of paint - I'd recommend paint.net
