Hi, new here so sorry if this has been discussed before but I couldn't find it. My problem is basically, around 12-1300 ad in scenarios (the ones that don't crash immediately) the game shuts down for no reason. It always does it on the same turn of the game no matter what I do differently in that game. Also, custom games I can only play 10 turns and the game ends...I don't know why. I am playing a cracked version, but I own the game...I just lost the cd1 you need to play :/ Otherwise it worked fine when I played off the cd, same computer as I use now as well, an HP Pavillion dv6000 with windows vista. I figure it must have something to do with either the crack I use (I'm not really good at that techy stuff), or the patch I got...since it didn't even work until I installed the latest patch (1.7 something). Any help is appreciated, this game is one of my favorites.

there is your problem right there - the ten turn limit is part of the copy protection and the random crashes are most likely caused by whoever altered the .exe to crack that.

This site has a very strict anti-piracy rule so that even if I want to I cannot help you getting a cracked version to run. In any case this is mute since no one can know what that guy did - so its not feasible to troubleshoot it.

yeah I kinda figured it was the patch I got since I ran multiplayer and it gave me the same patch again. If I bought the xpac would I need the original cd's to install/play? since that's the only problem is I can't for the life of me find my copy of them.

if you have a non-cracked install of the core game - you only need the disc of the expansion to install and play that. I am pretty sure a cracked core game will give you troubles installing and playing the xpacs....

no I installed using retail just use the crack to play it since I lost the cd. thanks that'll solve my dilemma then it seems, sorry if this was kinda a dumb question just didn't want to waste a bunch of money :)
