Okay, Google has failed me: I simply cannot wrap my head around .dds files. I can't figure out how to create them, edit them, or generally make them work at all.

What I am currently trying to do is add new leader head graphics. I have the picture I want to use, but have no idea how to get it into the proper format to make it work with FfH and display properly (or display at all for that matter).

Can anyone provide some instruction, or at least point me towards a tutorial of some kind?

gimp is the best way to do it. it has a plug in

Get DDS viewer 2 and just convert dds to tga to edit in your program of choice, then convert back to DDS.
