The Xinjiang Flag being used in this mod is incorrect. The flag used was representative of the shortlived East Turkestan Republic which was Replaced by the military government of Warlord Shicai, which ran from 1934-1944 (About the time used). The actual flag should look something like a solid red flag with a single, yellow golden star in it. The actual link is difficult to find, but do a google image search on it ("Flag of Sinkiang"), the first image thats up there should be the correct one to be used.

heh, That particular flag that you had, would incite the same types of feelings from a Han chinese person as say, a Taiwanese flag flying over the forbidden city to the CCP.

Hmm, that sounds just like the flag of Vietnam.

After doing a GIS search, I found a link to the flag on wikipedia, but the image is no longer present. The cached copy on Google shows it is just like the Vietnamese flag, with one distinction: the flag in the center is a 6-pointed star similar to the Star of David, not the typical 5-pointed star.

Actually, the flag I used (being the "Kokbayraq" flag) is the one used by the major political faction in Xinxiang at the time.

Regardless of whether they were in power or not (and they were in power for half the time covered by the mod) they dictated Xinxiang policies and foreign treatment of the nation right through to now even.

It is representative of Warlord Shicai's political fears and also acts as a Soviet-factioned counter to the ROC.

Whilst the flag might incite hatred in a Han Chinese occupant of the region, there's a hellova lot more Uyghur people who support the flag. ;)

Of course, a link: and

Well, thats because your most likely Han Chinese majority. Granted that flag is a lot like seeing the confederate flag to the average northener, but given that it is highly historically accurate, I suggest you deal with it in whatever way you desire.

I actually found a neat little website with all the different Xinjiang flags on it, i'm not sure how to link the specific image, but using the parameters mentioned above, you should be able to locate what i'm talking about. the site is Here ( %26sa%3DN)
