View Full Version : So do Evo debates go here now? Fifty Feb 02, 2008, 09:26 PM Or is this just for like science/technology news????? CivGeneral Feb 02, 2008, 09:28 PM I would not know, I'd think it go into OT since it would involve religion. stickciv Feb 02, 2008, 09:29 PM Keep them in OT I say. Babbler Feb 02, 2008, 09:33 PM I would suspect that newbies would keep it on the OT. Regulars, for whatever reason, don't want to discuss it. The Yankee Feb 02, 2008, 10:35 PM http://forums.civfanatics.com/announcement.php?f=283&a=498 Those look to be the parameters. CivGeneral Feb 03, 2008, 02:43 AM I would suspect that newbies would keep it on the OT. More than likely thats where it would stay. Regulars, for whatever reason, don't want to discuss it. Ditto, and it's best that stays out of here :) Plotinus Feb 03, 2008, 03:21 AM I would not know, I'd think it go into OT since it would involve religion. Why must a discussion about evolution involve religion? I don't recall that being a factor in, say, the debate over punctuated equilibrium. I'd say that if it's a scientific discussion it goes in this forum; if it's not then it goes elsewhere. Abaddon Feb 03, 2008, 03:41 AM evolution YES evolution Vs. religion NO Mise Feb 03, 2008, 04:30 AM evolution YES evolution Vs. religion NO Ditto. Also, what happens to old Sci/Tech threads that got lost in OT, but still might have got useful discussion had it not been long buried? I mean, most of the time, when stuff gets bumped, it quickly disappears again, but if someone makes a new thread with the same topic, it lacks all the interesting posts that came before it... and disappears quickly again :p sirdanilot Feb 03, 2008, 06:22 AM Ditto. Mise Feb 03, 2008, 06:32 AM Search it, report the OP and state that you wish that it be moved into this forum. Well that's the thing, I don't know if it's even worth it... It might just die again. And if everyone did that the mods would have a lot of work on their hands  Abaddon Feb 03, 2008, 07:05 AM Technology is about the NEW. Anything of relevance will surface once more as a new thread here. sirdanilot Feb 03, 2008, 08:46 AM Well that's the thing, I don't know if it's even worth it... It might just die again. And if everyone did that the mods would have a lot of work on their hands  No, because in a while, people will forget about the old threads and start new threads here, so at most it would be a temporary job for them. Besides, moving a thread doesn't require that much effort I think. As for your fear of the thread dying, I always say, it's worth the try. If it does die, you haven't lost anything in trying ;) Knight-Dragon Feb 03, 2008, 10:21 PM Classic OT evolution threads will stay in OT. This forum is more for scientific and techie discussions. |
