Civ5 should have a forum. And it will have a forum by fair means or foul:evil:.

It would be good to start having civ 5 stuff.

How about we wait until later in the year when he talks about it...

But if we wait, then most of the ideas will already be gone, so why not start early and send requests in to 2K?

We need one.

Mainly because there are multiple threads, where one is in the Civ 4 Strategy And Help. Which makes no sense. By having a central place for all thing Civ 5, it gives people some idea where it is meant to go.

It could start out as just a "Civilization5: Suggestions and Ideas" type of area.

Civ4 forum ≠ Civ 5 forum.

Civ4 forum ≠ Civ 5 forum.
It isn't either Civ4 or 5, it's just Civ-Ideas & Suggestions.

But that would be like before Civ 4 came out, to have a Civ 3 forum called: Civ–Ideas and suggestions. A different game requires a different forum.

Thats what we had...

Where did it go?

It was removed/merged/renamed/something else when it became obsolete.

Well then that's kind of pointless, why not just make a forum?

Because, there is already a sub-forum which fulfills this puspose. Closer to the release of Civ 5, the sub-forum will likely split from the Civ 4 forum into a new forum for Civ 5. As it is, Firaxis would be looking in the ideas and suggestions sub-forum we already have, and as such a new forum isn't required at this stage for any purpose other than adding a forum which has no real purpose.

Why would suggestions for Civ5 be in a Civ4 forum? Presumably, people who play Civ4 are happy with the game. Those of us who post ONLY in the Civ3 forms might have far more incentive in seeing changes in Civ5 that are NOT anything like Civ4. This is the first I'd heard of a Civ5 thread.

I bought Civ4 when it was first released. My computer played it just fine, but I hated the game. I'm hoping Civ5 will be an actual improvement.

Well then how do you explain the science and technology forum?;)

It fulfils a different purpose to OT.

Exactly. Then the Civ 5 forum should fulfill a different purpose than Civ-Ideas and Suggestions; it should actually help act on the ideas and organize something to try to include them in Civ 5.

No, it doesn't. Civ 5 is only in the ideas and suggestions phase. Adding a Civ 5 forum at this stage would be pointless.
