Robots have been around for ages, this one is just better at walking and can sort of think (very badly), but it is from 2003;)

Canada already has an Android called Aiko, which has built-in reactions.
If you search it on Youtube, you see the earliest forms of it. The official presentation of it got deleted, as I couldn't find it anymore. But it basically showed the creator talking to the Android, and the Android responding quite quickly and fluent.
Even though it couldn't walk, it was made in a guy's basement, imagine in factories.

To be honest anthropomorphic robots are a really bad idea. The human shape is not really efficient.

Perhaps. But one could argue that the 'human shape' has proven to be very efficient at producing more humans, :p
