Okay, I know there's a like thread this but....in this case, they really DID found it!

It was really weird.

Pacal got his two cities captured really early in the game because of a Barbarian event...but I did fine as I was playing a OCC with Augustus and had the Great Wall.

So anyway, I'm just happily teching along and then...."Taoism has been founded in Mutal!"

Weird...I didn't know Barbarians could found a religion!

I should note that I moved in with Riflemen and wiped out Mutal and the other Taoism city before Taoism spread beyond the two Barbarian cities.....I didn't need another religion complicating diplomacy....:D

I have also seen barbarians found religions.

I have seen them colonize a whole empty continent, with cultured cities and improvements but not religions...

Interestingly enough, the barbs can do whatever they want. In TheGrimm's Epic Seven (http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1370) report, they built Stonehenge.

The barbs cannot win at all. If you are teamed with the barbs (there was an SGOTM and at least 1 SG that did this. I never got to the end of the SGOTM, might one day). For example, if you try for a conquest victory when it gets down to you and the barbs vs the other guy, the other guy wins. The barb team can't do stuff I assume.

lol - evidently because they were teching religions... :)

Some trivia:

-barbs can't do a lot of wonders

- Barbs can't get better units than riflemen

_ Barbs can win... atleast in the Next War mod ( when the earth shatters in pieces it is said that barbs won a Dom Win )
