The description of the spy says that they are invisible except to other spies. But my spies never see enemy spies -- should they?

There's also mention of a mission for a spy of "kill spy" but I've never seen it offered or a have any idea what circumstances would allow that--anyone have more or better info??

Thanks,
Dick

The dude who was writing the manual overestimated the programmers ability to implement all that stuff.

No "Kill Spy" mission, No "Spies can't enter boarders" threshhold and no Spies seeing other spies.

But I have had my spies on the border expose enemy spies, so even if they don't reveal them, they must "stumble" across them sometimes.

Yeah, the documentation on spies is a disaster.

Seems like all your spy can do is stay on the side of the road with his leg stretched, so the enemy spy can "stumble".

I use spies a lot, so mine quite often get stumbled upon. It happens to AI spies as well, including in areas where I have none of my own spies and no Security Bureau nearby, nor even a Worker. So who does the stumbling ?

I was under the impression that a spy of your own in a plot increases the chance a spy will be 'seen' and therefore caught. You wouldn't get to actually see the spy on your screen.

There's a chance for a spy to fail and be detected under all circumstances. If you have a spy where the enemy spy is trying to operate, or a Security Bureau, the chance increases. It may also increase if your EP against them is higher than vice-versa, but I'm not sure.

Thanks to stuff like this I'm finding the whole espionage addition in BTS to be a lot less than I'd hoped for. Not well thought out and not well implemented IMHO. I really dislike the fact that spies from civs I'm not at war with can run around and poison water supplies, blow things up, etc, get caught so I know which civ did it and there's no consequences to the AI. That's sabotage not espionage.

Doesn't add to my fun with the game, just the opposite in fact. Just not well thought through at all which is odd since most of BTS obviously had a lot of thought invested and turned out well.

So, does the Security Bureau count for the city square only, or the entire BFC?
