I DON"T doubt that this will be too expensive to be cost efficient, though.

Actually, there have been ideas to "harvest" the energy from foot traffic. This is a novel one, I admit.

I always thought that in the right kind of community (Santa Cruz would be perfect, narz) that an eco-based fitness club would be an interesting idea. You know, hook up all the machines, etc... to some form of generator. You log in everything you generate comes back to you as a credit against your membership. So, the more you work out, the cheaper your membership becomes. :)

Know any venture capitalists, narz? ;) I wouldn't mind a move down to Santa Cruz. Davis is a bit hot in the summer.
