View Full Version : Lethal Air Strikes?

I've been messing with my XML to change a few things I felt my game needed, like removing global warming for example. The last thing I wanted to do was give my air power the ability to kill units and ships. It wasnt immediately obvious how to do it just by amateurish browsing through the files.

I'd appreciate any tips on making air strikes more useful. I'd much rather rely on them to clear out marauding pillagers than land units since they can rebase anywhere to respond to invaders.

I'll help you if you help me! Please send me your original Civ 4 XML audio files and the ones from BTS (assuming they're unmodified)...

The answer lies in changing the tag <iCombatLimit>. Compare that with the regular <iAirCombatLimit> for a land unit or sea unit that are able to do complete kills. You'll see what I mean.

Look into Civ4UnitInfos.xml and change <iAirCombatLimit> if you haven't already to 100.
