Well, here's a map I made, for a SUPERNES of 1190 AD (the Crusade Era) but I don't have time to finish it off right now. So I'm making it freeware :D

I, over the bored days I have had, have made up a collection of maps on my computer. I would love for one day some of these to be used in a NES, as some of them I am proud of :).

So I have put them all in a zip, and attached them here.

Some are made up maps, some a made up countries on world map, and some are a mixture. They are mostly named stjnes2b or a or something like that because when I made most of these it was when i was thinking of the next stjnes2.

They should all be in bmp format.

You may use any maps in a nes, all i desire is recognition "Map made by Jason the King" or something like that.

Yes, pug, border the islands, plus, you should make rivers between the partners. Also make a center island with barbarians and Free tech nologies from huts. Make sure you can only open the huts with military units, because there may be hidden barbs!

Erez, you seriously need to check the Scandinavian borders from yer WW2 history books. And also the borderlines of Finland and Russia were a lot different back in 1939 when compared to modern day.

it's more 1936 that 39... so it's correct cause the winter war never took place

Russia is yet to go into the Winter war with Finland.
But germany already took over Austria,and Checoslovakia became a german province instead of chekia to germany slovakia as puppet cause I dind't wanted poor little countries...

Well, it's better than Roddy's map... Altough there are still some funny borderlines that have never existed. Like Estonia, which is being divided by USSR and... whatever that brown country is, Lithuania :D

Still, this is the best European map available right now. If I made an all-European NES, this would be the map to use ;)

Jason, size of a country doesn't always mean it's power... look at tzarist russia, or china, they were huge but weak empires...

And turkey was still strong than, just was stoped and begun dying. also if it's napoleon days, france has the best army...

That map definetly takes place before 1809, at least when you look at Scandinavia. But, looking at Prussia's size, it must have been very close to 1800's. My quess would be, that map dates very close to the year 1800.

This is a map, edited from Troq's old one to represent much more of Euroasia. I did nothing but advise on the editing of this map, all work credit belongs to erez for his incredible hand at drawing. I am sure he would want me to post this :).

Erez, I think you should have some more European rivers... like Tonava, and maybe Seine. Also, having some rivers in Siberia (like Lena and Ob) wouldn't hurt. Other than that, it's very nice! :)

Because adding all rivers in the world will make a white map as I can't make the river size small enough... thats why I'm adding only important rivers in history and today world.

Yes, I agree with KNAS.

Also, Seine and Tonava are very important rivers in European history. Many old important cities have been build along Tonava, and it is easily the most famous river in Europe. I think it's also the longest. If there is one river that is historically significant then it's Tonava.

Seine might not be that important. But since Paris is located along it, I figured it wouldn't be the least important river either.

In Siberia, there is plenty of room for at least one or two rivers even with the thick lines. There hasn't been lots of fighting along these river, but Ob and Lena are still very famous rivers and I suppose that they have some historical significance when talking about the 18th century Russian expansion to Siberia.

KNAS with your idea, what if the river is the borders? should I just delete it? if I won't it will look like the two countries are at war and somone took some lands from the other...

And KNAS where is this Tonava? as my importance ideas are for rivers that are both known and important not for city building for for example like with thr Rheine... that was in the peace of ww1 as the start of the DMZ areas... or The revier between today north korea and russia wich represent their borders (and yes, when the river change it's movment the borders changes to lol, and it did happand many times....)
Or the Nile, wich is the river that made a reason for egypt to live lol... and the 2 rivers above Georgia are important as in this days there is a canal where they are closest to each other with make ships be able to move from caspian sea to black ea =-o.

Ok, I have edited Erez's editied version of Skilord's map, lol. I have added a number of rivers, and I have made them much skinnier. I also moved the Mississippi east where it should be, fixed the amazon, and edited all the rivers to make them a bit more accurate (namely the Nile, which is my the river i am most proud of :)). I didn't add another one in Mainland europe due to the fact it would make it too crowded to play on.

Here is another version:

I would suggest the following rivers: Seine, Danube, Congo. The Seine starts in Normandy, flows through Paris and continues into Central France. The Congo starts on the West African coast between Angola and Congo, flows in an arch through Congo and into Mozambique. The Danube flows through much of Central Europe, just north of the Balkans. If I can, I will add those rivers to the map, but I might not have time. Overall, a good job adding rivers.

I thought about adding the Danube, but then decided against it. The Seine is absolutly out of the question, it would make france look like an Island. You have to remember, this is a map we will play on too, lol. Too many rivers will make it look wierd. The Congo river was just to plain hard to see and draw on from my atlas, plus it would sort of get too close to nile, lol.

Jason- You could make the rivers smaller than that, like white or blue lines, but I see your popint. I will try and draw my own river map.

Denemark is not broken from europe (but it does has many more more islands..) it's not broken until germany build the kiel canal atleast...

And yes, Sparta is a peninsula, and only connected to Greece by a small isthmus.

this is the map i made and am using in Rnes3. its easy to change around the land/sea cause you just fill the hexes you want to be land with white (and blue for sea). you could even make mountain (brown) and forest (green) hexes if you wanted......

You know how people open all those 'Alternate History' and what If NES'es? Well, i had an idea. Instead of What if one great empire stayed alive....why not all of them? ;) This map has some of the great Empires of all time...all existing with each other....in 2003 AD.

erez i can see 3 mistakes in that map. Britannys independence was lost by then, Mahrattis werent that big in 1617 because the Mughals only started its decline in 1739, i think u added another tibet just wondering what it is really meant to be called.

Emu, I took the map in "Age of Marchenlism" and Brest is there... After all, My thos times maps based on EU2... and I needed another country in India, after all it was conquered not settled... and oops about tibet... just that your tibet doesn't control tibet like China Xin doesn't control Xin ;)

well according to my history book ( and EU2, i have patch 1.07 we must have different patchs) britanny lost independence in 1491 and my map was set in 1617 so i guess yours is different a time?

i thought my tibet was wrong but i couldnt be bothered to start changing it all, we could rename one of them the Chagitai (SP) horde

You shouldn't do this NES for 1 reason, Kamilian will take Poland :lo: and you will must make the conquest of Poland harder cause it will be a player country, and will still have like 30 NPC to control, I don't sugest doing this NES...

I agree, start a nes from the beggining with simple rules and some varients, I will join.

It was just a suggestion. I will not be starting an NES until a lot of these new ones die. And it will probably be a normal story NES.

This is the gif version of my 1815 map which I will be using in my soon-starting 1815 NES (which I will most likely start within the next hour or two). It is almost historically accurate, except that in real life there were a few more italian and german states and the empires in the coast of africa didn't hold any territories in the Sahara desert.

U think so? it might be, it was kinda hard drawing the borders on a blank map. Netherlands is also ****ed up but it's corrected in the NES... I think I'll correct Netherlands here too

EDIT: Netherlands corrected. Unfortunately I don't have good maps of Austria dating back to that time :(

because montenegro was tiny, but i think Aaminion means the ottoman terrioty of bosnia is too big

Definetly impressive to say the least.

A few suggestions:

1.) Resize America, it looks too small.
2.) REsiz Europe to a bit smaller, but not to be realistic, just so u can fit more.

Bosnia is that triangle sticking out on the Westernmost fringe of Ottoman Europe. It's somewhere between 150%-250% of what it should be.

And Plexus, beutiful map but... I kind of figured it would go to the right instead of to the left :(

The Pacific Ocean is WAY too small. It's a lot bigger than that IRL.

Maybe the Ottoman Empire does extend a bit too north in the map, but (looking at my 1815 maps) no more than a couble millimeters.

to be honest, the boundaries of Bosnia have been pretty much the same since the 15th century.

I found the gap... Europe and Asia sizes, well their not corect... Caspian sea should be realy much biiger and more north acording to Asia sizes... while to europe it's fine...

There are a few problems in this which will be very hard to address, but I'll get to them eventually.

Hmmm, only one suggestion:

Add rivers, then it will be THE perfect map. In my view it has already set a new standard for NES maps.

A few pointers:

Is it curved? trying to imitate a globe? I don't like that, as you cant draw a straight line for the US, etc.

Also, comparing africa to asia, africa is extremely large.

Other then that, the map is very very very very good!

Well, because I am trying to deal with a globe, some areas may appear curved.

Maybe you can adjust the shadowing in certain areas to make some pop out as if they are mountains and hills.

Just as a side note... You CAN'T edit PNG with paint and can't save with Paint PNG's... I have a good software :)

Well, I use a variety of methods to draw my maps.

All of my real world maps are based on Microsoft Encarta. I use Photoshop to draw the landmasses.

Ahhhh, they are still so cool. ;)

Hmm if Germany won, why there is a Russia? and why Germany control parts of Aafrica? They DON'T want Africa... they wanted Wetsern Russia.
And why there is an India? If you didn't knew Japan wanted it ALL, ALL of Asia and everything they could take...

Storyline:

1928:
Franklin D. Roosevelt defeats Herbert Hoover for U.S. President.

1932:
Due to the great depression, Franklin D. Roosevelt loses to Hoover for President. Until 1944, all U.S. presidents elected are Republicans.

World War 2 continues as it did historically until 1941.
January 11, 1941:
Operation Sea Lion, the invasion of England, is launched.

February 2:
Groundhog Day Peace is signed. Germany and Italy gain colonies in Africa.

February 10:
Afraid of the Axis, Arabian nations unite with Iraq and Syria to form the Arab Alliance. They are a fundementalist government that immediatley impose ridiculous taxes on all non-Muslims.

June 21:
Germany invades the Soviet Union.

March 26, 1942:
With no foreign aid, the Soviet Union collapses. It is split into a fascist German-controlled Russia, and a communist Soviet States of Siberia(SSS).

September 22, 1942:
The Empire of Japan surprise attacks Darwin, Australia.

October 1, 1942:
Australia allies with India and China to form the Pacific-Indian Alliance.

April 3, 1945:
The Great Pacific War, after having dragged on for almost three years, has a turning point. The United States, under Harry S. Truman, declare war on Japan.

April 30, 1945:
Japan signs peace. China, having been completely conquered, becomes a permanent ally of Japan. Australia secedes the Northern part of Australia. India and the United States go to pre-war borders.

June 4, 1947:
Constant rebellions in German-occupied Europe cause Germany to liberate its occupied territory. Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, and China become NGIA(Nazi German Imperial Alliance, kind of like the UN).

December 25, 1947:
Democratic rebels invade France. They have a ton of public support, and a very strong army. NGIA is presented with its first real challenge.

This NES should start January 1, 1948.
