View Full Version : How long before I get a UN victory?

Simple question, is there any way of knowing when the diplomatic victory vote will come up once the UN is built? Reason I ask is I currently have a game in the bag and could self vote my way to a diplo win, as I have around 65% world pop. I am just off a domination win but I'd rather avoid a tedious war at this stage, as some of you might understand. I have just built the UN, become secretary general, and out of interest I [shift+enter]ed about 50 turns ahead but I never got the chance to vote a diplo win -- anyone know when it might arise?

If you're playing BTS 3.13, the opportunity for a diplomatic victory won't come up when you have enough votes to vote yourself to victory, you need to need at least one other team voting for you.

Really? So I if I want a diplo win I have to drop my population back a bit so that the other civs' votes count? Makes sense, but this is the first I've heard of it.

You can make colonies. they, as vassals, must vote for you.

I don't know when the vote come. Sometimes the vote was coming each 10 turn and one time it took more time than usely . But 50 turns without a vote is not normal at all.

I've win a diplo victory without any vassal. We was playing a 5 players mp game. 3 played quited. The last guy on the server was at war with one of the IA. I was at peace with everybody. When 15 turn remained, the vote pop up, I was secretary, I voted for myself, the other guy for himself, his enemy for me and the last bot abstain. This is it, I've won.

I also won many other vote, like nuke proliferation and free-market.
