Hi everyone. Long-time Civver, first time poster.

Anyway, I just downloaded RFC vanilla but can't get it to work. I followed FAQ recommendations and even got an e-mail response from Rhye, but I don't want to keep pestering like that. Any suggestions?

Here's the deal: Following instructions to load, Advanced, Mods, RFC, "game must re-start," I do as directed. But the game never re-starts. It'll kick off the process, but never actually goes into the game itself. OS=XP.

I told you already

load -> Advanced -> Mods -> RFC is WRONG
load -> Advanced -> Mods -> Rhye's and Fall of Civilization is CORRECT

Make sure you have extracted the content of the zip properly.

I did like you said. RFC=shorthand in the post. I've tried unzipping in the folder, outside the folder and moving the files into it, in a different directory altogether. The problem's likely with my stupid computer. There's a better-than-bad chance something's corrupted.

ah, I told you because for some reason it's common that people extracts the folder "Rhye's and Fall of Civilization" inside a folder called RFC1980 (or the other current version number)

it will just take a lot more to load than Vanilla, especially if you didn't buy your PC yesterday. Sit and wait for it.
