I voted for islands and continents just so that we can amuse ourselves by conquering our neighbours with crusaders in the Middle Ages and then later with fleets of BBs and aircraft carriers carrying loads of stealth fighters! :cool: I definitely want a large map though. :)

I voted islands and continents, as this tends to create more opportunities for tactical defence as well - choke points and the like.

So no one wants to play on a world map then?

I see no thread (yet) for map size, but I would vote against the suggestion I've seen here and there for a large map. Large maps take longer to play, would possibly require more governors (which we didn't have enough of in the last game) and might make it a bit more difficult posting screen shots that show everything we need to see. Islands, continents, whatever, makes little difference (I usually choose "random" for this option, acutally, so I don't know in advance-more like real-world exploration ;) ), I just don't want a huge map.

Islands and Continents definitely, brings Naval Power into the game more. Also slows doen the AI a tiny bit. Everything helps at Deity.

Isles & continents for me, and I second Leowind's opinion regarding a smaller map size.

Oh yes, and play on a reasonable map size. Huge maps just take soo long sometimes and it is quite boring having to play the first 2000 years without meeting anyone. Maybe medium size?

I would start a map size poll but I am not completely sure on the actuall sizes so someone else can make the poll, or I may just guess...

I don't think that we'll end up with a custom map so you may as well. We may need polls for the age of the world too, but I'm quite happy for that to be random.
