View Full Version : Lunan
Turnad Mar 14, 2008, 10:44 PM I've read a bit about them and they seem really intresting (sucker for Pirates of the carribean :D) But it doesnt have much backstory on them except that they have a connection with the hippus and overlords.
So can anyone give me any more background on them?
Rex rgis of Ter Mar 14, 2008, 11:04 PM The Lanun probably formed during the end of the Age of Ice.
The society is fairly unstructured, so leaders like Hannah and Falamar rule by attracting a following. They are pirates, so they really have gray morales at best and love money.
The Lanun obviously have the most powerful fleet in Erebus. They are OO worshippers, and Hannah is the daughter of a cultist.
Fenboy Mar 15, 2008, 12:34 AM Not exactly Rex, the undead pirate in Age of Ice is Lanun (and has one of the creepiest 'pedia entries I've read). So they were around before then.
Rex rgis of Ter Mar 15, 2008, 12:37 AM From when I read that, I think it means that pirates existed before, not the actual Lanun, though they are probablyclosley related.
Turnad Mar 15, 2008, 01:46 AM Hmm, I can defently see OO for Hannah; but Falamar seems more a council of Esus guy (damn I wish I had BtS). Also do they have anypart of the war between gods and angels (aka good vs evil) or a they just making a profit out of it like the Hippus?
MagisterCultuum Mar 15, 2008, 01:59 AM I don't think they have any real allegiance to either good or evil, their leaders are both neutral after all. They represent the water sphere, whose god Danalin was never really part of the godswar to begin with, and isn't awake now. I see Hannah as a creation and devotee of the Overlords (who were created by the dreams of Hemah who was created by the dreams of Danalin under the corrupting influence but not control of Hastur and his demons). I think Falamar isn't really a very religious fellow, but he is familiar with the cultists (see his comments about how he has seen men walk on water and doesn't find it as impressive as you'd expect). Overlords doesn't not make sense for him, but I can see Esus or no state religion too. (The leader is current weighted +10 towards OO with no weights to anything else. Hannah is +25 OO, -20 Order, -20 Empyrean. She is a little evil)
Turnad Mar 15, 2008, 05:23 AM Awseome! thanks magister, by the way is there anymore background on Falamar then the pedia entry?
Fenboy Mar 15, 2008, 05:49 AM There are his 'Pron' events and a quote in the Water Walking 'pedia entry. Nothing really on his personal background.
thewyrm Mar 15, 2008, 07:33 AM You know, I have played at least 10 games as Falamar and I have never once seen these "pron" events everyone keeps talking about.
thomas.berubeg Mar 15, 2008, 09:44 AM Same here
Tyrs Mar 15, 2008, 09:58 AM At the moment the Pron events aren't working quite right, they don't go off for Falamar, they go of for the women. Play as a female leader (other than Os Gabella) a couple of times, and you'll see them
stp Mar 15, 2008, 03:08 PM In my patch .k Falamar game the event triggered correctly for Arendel. You need a friendly relationship with a female leader though.
Fenboy Mar 15, 2008, 05:02 PM Play as a female leader (other than Os Gabella) a couple of times, and you'll see them
Or just check the FfH Editor.xlsm, all the text is in there.
Edit: 200th post! woohoo!
