i have an sugestion for making the demo game even better.

each city must have its own forum with these sub forums
Citzens- Peoples who live there and theyr commenst about the life in this town
Buildings- all buildings in town, publics are on top of course, and the privates behind
All building should Contain
Photo
Workers
Producing
Logo(if has)
Sell - buy
And owner
and of course function at all
The open plaza - place to everyone talks what they want
The Palace (so important that has own forum)
Politicians place for decisins and stuff
mercenary camp - speak has itself

and each city or important place (like an ivory camp) has that, so we can control the population and the player where they will be,

This is a good idea, but will be hard to implement. This idea would set the perfect atmosphere for roleplaying. If we could get together some people, I would like to help Radunz and others make this possible.

i mean with this we can make the peoples fell the city mod, enter in the town and see what the economy is based on, hear the rumors see the unemployment tax and apreciate the houses and stores (even buy some stuff if they want)

We have tried an organized RPG with economy etc. in the past, but that takes a massive amount of effort to create.

It would be much more easy with a webserver to do information storage and backend calculations. Like the one I have.

Maybe we could organize it on your server then croxis, as this is a novel idea, and would add alot of community back into the game ;)

About the manpower is it will be possible because everyone will be a piece of brick, the city is organizated by the gov (wich is a lot of people) and the houses and workshops will be all made by its own owner, so very easy , if someone do spam we will have a whole gov to act has police (moderator of the forum) and the databank idea is fine, but i rather that everyone keeps in mind what it wants, the RP part goes by itself

i mean we could organize with masters and stuff , for the next demo game, or if u guys could do for this, and we must elect the masters to run the sistem and the says, like every player has its turn and do whathver wants with it, but we will needed pps to listen them and judge them a sistem would be nice too

What kind of server? Is Java a possibility?

So we would essentially have a online database detailing citizens and buildings to better facilitate RPing?

It is a standard webserver with php, python, perl, etc, some shell capacity as well. Javascript is run clientside, and I'd rather avoid it

Not Javascript, real Java in the form of JSP. I ask because I'm familiar with that, not so familiar with the rest. Don't know if I'd have time to help anyway, RL is a little :crazyeye:.

Why not just give every city their own thread in the xxx forum (citizens? gameplay?)

A single thread would be best.

Dave, I did a quick browse on my hosts, site and I can't see anything about executable java. I have no issued writting it in php or ruby though.

We want to do this in the citizens forum for the story writing aspect of roleplay. No reason there can't be multiple pieces to it, in addition to the story thread. Maybe also a city thread in the game play forum. I'm also thinking about local politics where citizens must declare their residence and then have influence over picking a mayor, builds, etc. Whether that is early in the game or later after we discover representation is a good question.

Maybe this is something we also put on the potentially redone website. Give every city its own page...
