Do many colonies carry the name of the old county. I guess there's a New England within the US, and many of the cities derive from Great Britian.

How about United Provinces of Alpha Centauri (UPAC)?

Ah well, The NUF sounds just as well. Shall we name some cities after the old ones - like New Dellville, New Addicta, New Kevholm and the like?

And what shall we name our privinces after this time? It think it should be a theme other than moons. How about perma-banned CFC people? We can have Stellar Converter Province, Mig Province, Kraftwerk Province, etc. :)

Or we could just have banned people as well. It would be a bit like the list but without the reasons. I could get two cities this way :D

The province names is a difficult one, the moon names was a quality idea but it should be different this time.

The city names should work the way they did last time. The names of the main players - ministers and governors, hopefully there will be enough changes to keep new names coming.

Lets hope Anrchium becomes a bigger city than it did last time ;)

I agree do the city names just like last time. Those continuing players who had a city name from the last game could opt to put a "new" in front of their old city name if they choose :)

Province names: Would earth continents work? Or do we want something more general? Maybe oceans? Just brainstorming out loud, so to speak.

Name of our empire. To be honest none of them really work well for me, though I do like Kev's suggestion. Yeah, I think I'll vote 'other' and by that I mean United Provinces of Alpha Centauri (UPAC).

Civ name: Why not just New Fanatica (NF)?

As for cities, yeah names of the players.

But provinces now, hmmm. If regions of the moon worked well last time, why not regions of Mars? We could have provinces named Amazonis, Chryshe, Isidis, Hesperia, Solis, many many good sounding spacey names.

It was actually the name of the moons of the Solar System that we used. But your idea works well with what Leowind said and using the Moon or Mars would be better because it is supposed to be another woeld. Good Idea Mordheim!

Doh! Read 'moon names last time was a quality idea' and thought it meant regions of the moon, but no matter. And I really do think the names on the poll are a bit poor... (no offence :D)

Are you thinking of a four city conquest?

I realise that we haven't chosen the civ we want to be yet, but for the province names then we could use the list of Great Leaders in Civ 3 for that civ. Obviously it won't work with the Spanish or Vikings, etc but it'd be easy for the others. :)

I'm not playing with the initials of the National Front so you can discount that option. However, if we could somehow squeeze in another letter to give us NUFC then that would be splendid for a Newcastle United fan like me! :D

In my opinion, UUFR looks\sounds best. It also isn't COMPLETELY identical with any other organization (though it looks a bit familiar...)
