Hi guys, after I got the new Warlords 2.13 patch up and working, I donwloaded and installed the Earth24 map (one of the top 10 civfanatics downloads). It loads mostly just fine, except one problem: games only start with 18 civilizations. I checked things out, and there is a separate 18 civ earth one from vanilla civ4, and this mod loaded is claerly earth24, and I can choose between 24 civilizations, but only 18 civs are in the game. If I try to customize game and select each opponent, it only allows 18 total civs to be played.

Any ideas? Am I doing something wrong? Anyone else ever try this? Is it a Mac problem, mod problem, user error?

Does the mod come with a CvGameCoreDLL.dll file? If so, that is probably where the ability to have 24 civs in the game is defined. 18 civs maximum is hard coded into the standard game, and the Mac version ignores anything defined in a custom dll.

[EDIT] Confirmed. The mod description says it used a custom DLL:

The zip contains a mod, because it contains a modded DLL that allows 24 civs

MMM, thanks Alan. I assume since you didn't offer a work-around that there isn't one for us Mac-heads? We're limited to the meer 18 :sad:

There is no workround when the mod contains a DLL unless Aspyr can be persuaded to support custom DLLs. I think that's been scheduled for two weeks after hell freezes and pigs fly.

Some mods can run in spite of the Mac version's lack of DLL support, but others can't. And those that do run will not give you any of the changes that the modder made in the custom DLL.

What are the co-ordinates for Denver, so I can place a start location there??

Has anyone noticed any flying pigs or particularry cold weather yet btw? that shoud indicate about 2 weeks before BTS is released on mac? :lol:
