Early days - the animation speed needs some work.

Now just do a civ-coloured version too, and they'll be perfect...

But I could actually have some use for these ;)I've got Poser. I've commited to start learning it & making units now that my major pcx project is done. I've bought elephant & howdah models since I'll need them for Indian units. Eventually that will include an ancient/medieval Elephant Worker. I'll need to do a few simple 2 legged units before I can tackle a 4-legged & then learn how to combine both kinds into a sort of multi-unit.

Maybe, a lot further down the road, there could be latter-eras upgrade units. Edit: That would be after making an Army unit featuring a "royal" elephant.

Hehe  You actually had me when I first looked at these earlier on today! I sat for about 5 minutes waiting for the unit animation images to "load"

I guess they are a little slow... ;)

Although I too, just as Quinzy, sat there waiting for the animations to load into that cunningly sized space provided :)

Nah. This is sad. Now someone go and make these units.

Watch out, though, I bet making elephant workers will be difficult. I would recommend starting with some simpler (human!) units to get a bit more familiar with the process before attempting them.

I think the elephant animations are going to be so different its not going to matter much :).

That's the second time I've quoted myself to respond. I'm sorry everyone is frustrated enough that they don't read the previous comments. You should have seen the hard time my "face to face" friends got yesterday.:p

There's an elephant model available for Daz Studio - I suggest that you get hold of it and get to work... :mischief:

for those of you who don't read (Post 4, post 9, and now post 12), I drew you a picture:

But I'm still going to do what I said I would do:

And it will get done faster if no one else interrupts me to say I should do it.:p

So, Blue Monkey, why don't you start thinking about making some elephant units?

So, Blue Monkey, why don't you start thinking about making some elephant units?
The thinking is there - I want to make at least:

A War Elephant with sheathed tusks & a sword on his trunk
A GL/King unit using an elephant in ceremonial dress (elephant only or with a simple rider without much animation)
An Elephant/Archer unit
Elephant Worker
A multi-unit with the Elephant + Foot Soldiers that would normally guard an elephants legs
An Elephant/Army Unit - I have an idea for using a chhatra (regal parasol) in place of the standard bearer.
But as you yourself suggested, first I need to make some simple human units:

Learn Poser by making the Bugis
concurrently start a thread of all the concept art I've gathered, including a unit line / needed units list. The art includes elephants. I'm working on the galleries today & over the next few.
Make some more units from sword to archer, that provide experience & animations of use in making the elephant units
further on (after elephant) make the badly needed Ratha (chariots)
move on (after elephant) to unusual units. for example: the rakshasas & devas, saddhu with siddhis (magical powers), various special King units (like Arjuna & Krishna in a ratha).Maybe it's time to close this thread so the serious part of the discussion can take place in that thread.

Don't forget the Steampunk Elephant ;) Made of iron and brass and powered by steam. You're right. That one (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sultan%27s_Elephant) is also on my mental list - probably bearing a Gatling or a Maxim.

Also, while you're at it, maybe you could make a Shoopuf (http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Shoopuf) worker as well (Flavor unit for the Spiran civilizations.....

But the concept art really sparks my interest.

Maybe.....though in Final Fantasy X those beasts didn't work they traveled from place to place.
