I just dug up an old version of Rhinoceros (v2.0) (it's a 3-D program), and the first thing I thought was, yay, I can make units. I would like to ask here to see if anybody else has it, or knows how to use it to make units.

It is more of a modeler than a stand alone 3d program. You can use it to create the model (wireframe, mesh, whatever) with. But, it is not well suited to animating with. I suggest you can use this in combination with bryce 5.5 (free) to make quite a lot of excellent units. But, no one here can tell you how to model. You have to go through the various tutorials yourself. use google.

I know Neomega used this a long time ago and Bjornlo is right it's more of a modeling program than anything.

I thought he modeled in Rhino and animated in 3d studio Max?

No, I'm pretty sure he modeled and animated his first couple units entrely in Rhino. Then he moved on to OpenFX and Blender. I don't think he has 3dsmax because that was one of the reasons he stopped working on the Civ4 version of Pentagenesis.
