How does the gaming computer of your dreams look like?

For me, it's these reqirements:
- Satellite internet connection
- In-built 3D holographic screen
- Gyro controller with touch screen
- MP3 player that takes all formats
- Internet browser
- 1 TB flash memory
- Landscape editor
- Blu-ray player
- Better graphics, of course
- In-built web camera
- Can play games from these consoles:
*PlayStation
*PlayStation 2
*PlayStation 3
*Wii
*Xbox
*Xbox 360
*PC/MAC
- 3DHoloscreen touchable.
- Wireless power cord
- Quantum Processor
- Upgradable
- Epic Design

You forgot Keyboard + mouse.

Aside form that, you have pretty much described a good computer

^Keyboard and mouse not NEEDED.

-Since the 3DHoloscreen is also a touchscreen, you can have a virtual mid-air keyboard.
-The mouse ahs been replaced by a gyro controller

AFAIK satalite internet isn't useful for multiplayer.

How about NES? Super NES? Genesis? Since we're talking about an idea, why not just say "Has some kind of virtual console like the Wii's, but with games available from every past generation?"

Also, are we talking about a perfect console or computer? You say "console" in the title but "computer" in your post.
AFAIK satalite internet isn't useful for multiplayer.
Am I the only person who finds online multiplayer to be a bit silly? The only good multiplayer is when your opponent is right next to you. Y'know, so you can punch each other in the shoulder, knock their controller out of their hand, curse them... oh yeah, good times, good times. ^_^

Yes you are. Multiplayer is much better with a full screen. My friends and I do lan parties for that reason.

Satellite internet is terrible. I had it for a year.

IMO I just want to ask you guys which console you think would be a better buy?

PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360?

I'm currently thinking PlayStation 3 because you can play PS2 games on it, and also the 360 has a sort of "disease" that sometimes wrecks havoc on it without warning. Here are some games I would probably want for it.

ICO
Shadow of the Colossus
Final Fantasy X
Final Fantasy XII
Guitar Hero II
Civilization: Revolution
Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution
Burnout 3: Takedown
Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec
Gran Turismo 4
Gran Turismo 5: Prologue
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

Obviously I can't get all of them, but which ones would you recommend me at some time? And please note that Grand Theft Auto/God of War/Metal Gear Solid games are off-limits for me.

Depends, you need to buy the 80GB PS3 for backwards compatibility. Also, to play online with the 360 you need to pay $50/year, but the for the PS3 it's free, IIRC. Either one is fine, IMHO.

How do you get online access on a Wii?

Maniacal

It's free for the Wii, you just need a wireless/wifi server. I don't know if you can hook it straight ot a modem.

Anyways, back on topic (Swein make a new one if you want to keep asking about current systems, or better yet find a (more) recent one on the same subject), multiplayer is great for console games because there's only so much you can do with a linear campaign and the AI that most games have. And you can't really mod console games.

Personally I like having multiplayer with people right there. There was nothing better than playing golden eye, or mario kart back in the day. Playing civ online, or when I had mario strikers it wasn't even close to as much fun.

well the thing is that most PS3's made these days WON'T play PS2 or PS1 games......and the small fact that it costs 400$ for cheapest one makes me decide that I'd rather have a 360..........but I have none of the next-gen consoles.......so........

The 360 did have major heat problems ("red ring of death") when it first came out. About 1/3 of them died. But they've finally fixed that, so it should be OK reliability-wise now.

Describing a "dream system" is kind of pointless since we have no idea what will come out. But I'll list a few specs that would be great.

*24 GHz Core 2 Solo mobile processor or equivalent. 22 GHz for less than 30 seconds in between turns in Civ3 even on gigantic maps with 31 civs and 300 cities, and 2 GHz for background tasks. 22 GHz dual-core would also work. Quad core or above doesn't help - Civ3 only uses on thread.
*10,000 RPM, 500 GB laptop hard drive. 7200 RPM is pretty good, but the next level is better. And 500 GB is tons of storage space for me.
*1080p projector. Even a 720p projector is amazing.
*Amazing battery life. Current battery life is rather mediocre in most cases.

Really though, even what's available today is pretty good.

Multiplayer with your opponent right there is certainly the best :goodjob:. Online multiplayer can be fun, but it really depends on the game and it's never as fun as multiplayer with friends right there.

What do you mean by most PS3s THESE DAYS? When I told my friend that I wanted a PS2, he said "PS2? Are you kidding me? You should get a PS3 instead!," and I replied "But I want to play certain PS2 games".

And he told me that I can play PS2 games on a PS3.

A perfect gaming console? Something to play games on? Why, I believe that would be Playstation 1, before everyone tried to do everything. Or maybe I had the most fun with games made for PS, and not their stupid sequels on PS2 and onwards.

Could you give me some examples? As far as I know, some of the PSX's legends are Tekken 3, Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy VII-IX, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2, Rayman 2: The Great Escape, and (perhaps) WipEout 3.

Hold on there, buddy! I'm just 14 and I want to be virgin until age 21.
Why? Because studies comes before love.
