View Full Version : News: Warlords SGOTM 06 - Results and Congratulations
AlanH Apr 06, 2008, 05:59 AM Surprise, surprise! Less than four months after we started, all twelve teams have completed (well, one retired from) the game. Well done, everyone.
With the Russians vacating the top spot this time around, the silver and bronze teams from Warlords SGOTM 4 both moved up to take gold and silver.
The laurels go to the three fastest Conquests: Murky Waters, One Short Straw and Xteam.
There were four more Conquests by Smurkz (Don't talk about the jungle!), CRC, Gypsy Kings and Misfits.
Domination was the victory of choice for Chokonuts, The Real Ms. Beyond and Fifth Element.
Trash Team lived up to their name, and lost by Conquest to take the Wooden Spoons, and the Geezers retired gracefully.
Please join me in congratulating the winners and losers, and thanking Gyathaar for his challenging map.

Sam_Yeager Apr 06, 2008, 07:05 AM Congratulations to the laurel winners :goodjob: for achieving such disgustingly early conquests.
I suppose I should congratulate Trash Team on surviving long enough to have the option to go for the Wooden Spoons but I'm too jealous.
:joke: :D

Exciting competition with lots of teams in the running! Hopefully, the next one will have another tight graph, ensuring that we all brit shicks as we go along.

Maybe you mean "With the incredible performance of the silver and bronze teams from Warlords SGOTM 4, they left the Russinas out of the top spots"

Aren't official lurkers considered members of the team?
Thank you for another fantastic experience!
AlanH Apr 11, 2008, 06:52 AM Aren't official lurkers considered members of the team?
They never have been in the past. They were an invention by players, that I never quite got my head around, anyway. If someone is on the team then why aren't they registered as team members? They don't have to play actual turn sets

Hmmm. In the SWOTM maintenance thread I appear in the list of members of the team that AlanH posted... (but my name is between brackets, while others aren't). I have just played two SXOTM and I don't remember who introduced me to the idea of "lurkers".
Thank you for answering. It is not so big a deal anyway. And IMO you are right, this concept is not useful.
AlanH Apr 11, 2008, 08:39 AM I used the brackets to identify those who decided that they wanted to be considered one-team lurkers. See my additional comments in the current vanilla SGOTM 7 sign-up thread.
If you and Murky Waters consider that you played a significant part in their victory then I'll adjust the list to make you a full member. I'll remove the brackets and add you to the role of honour.

I hereby officially requests (beg? ask?) that jesusin is upgraded to full member of Murky Waters for SGOTM06, even though we ignored most of his "advice".
Erkon - captain of MW
PS: thanks for a great game! It was interesting to compare with all other teams to find out what was important in this game, and what was not important. :goodjob:
LowtherCastle Apr 11, 2008, 11:32 AM Second that motion. jesusin's actual role was non-playing team member regardless of whatever his nominal status was. In fact, I would have mentioned it immediately if I had noticed earlier. Sorry about that jesusin.
EDIT: Sorry to be picky (anal?), but Gnejs' name is also typoed.
Niklas Apr 11, 2008, 06:35 PM Congratulations to the medalists, great performances! :goodjob:
And thanks to the staff for a very fun game. :wship:
And sorry AlanH, but I just have to :gripe: one last time about that jungle. There, now it feels better. :p
