Whenever i try to play multiplayer online it says my connection attempt to the host has timed out. i dont know what to do. someone please help.

Are you trying Direct Connect? Try setting up an account (it takes like 2 seconds and you don't have to leave the game) and then make a locked game using a predetermined password for you and your friend to allow access.
