I'm hoping someone has some hard number data on what the 0 in:
<iDiscoverRand>0</iDiscoverRand> range is, for mining it's all like 1000 which means 1 chance in 1000? I set it to 5 on a farm and got 2 back during testing and before I continued to play with it I was looking to find out if someone has invented the wheel first, so I can avoid all these interestng oblong shapes I'm sure to make while getting there.

someone messed with it a while back when they wanted corn on farms. I think its 1 in 1000 chance per turn. but if you have several different resources (like iron, silver, etc) it goes through each one. in my mod I had to experiment because I wanted wells to be commerce imps you build in deserts but a chance to find oil (which I made pretty much not appear at all when generating a map) I found 250 was a reasonable appearance rate for it. 100 was too common. the nice thing is that the AI was building wells too and it really sucked when they discovered oil in one of their's and I didn't. :eek:
