View Full Version : My worst game ever
TyranusBonehead Apr 09, 2008, 10:08 AM Last night I started up a new game, picked unrestricted leaders so I could combine Darius w/ Holy Roman and try for SS victory. I put down my first city as I sent the scout off to explore, got my first defender in place, then turn 30...bam, hostile barbarians come in, 3 archers attack my one city defender and I'm defeated, just like that.:mad::mad:
What's your worst game?:crazyeye:
sabo Apr 09, 2008, 12:14 PM I thought the barbs don't enter your culture space in the early game..
ZB2 Apr 09, 2008, 12:19 PM Must've been passed turn 60 or 90.
TheMeInTeam Apr 09, 2008, 12:23 PM Probably the uprising event. I doubt you'll find many BTS players that haven't died that way at least once. (technically, I haven't, because I had another city, but getting my capitol taken prompted me to quit, so I will say that was my worst game :p).
Close runner up for me was trying to jump from monarch to immortal for the immortals U game in the strategy forum. That was pretty ugly. I was out of the game before I thought I might even have a chance of being in it. Tough start didn't help, and neither did not being used to the AI tech pace!

It seems like Atilla always rallies his hordes against you whenever you fail to build the Great Wall.

he said it was turn 30
TyranusBonehead Apr 09, 2008, 03:08 PM I thought it was turn 30, oh well. Anyways, it was apparently late enough where the barbs could enter my territory, but way too early to defend against. sigh....oh well.
Bongo-Bongo Apr 09, 2008, 04:49 PM My worst game was in similar style. I'd settled my first city, explored a bit and built my first city defender. I'd just built a settler and was moving it towards my preffered location. Before I could get over the hills to settle it, the barbarians appeared outside my capital. Within two or three turns, it was game over for me.
Stoney the I Apr 10, 2008, 06:05 AM If i die by random events i just consider it unlucky and start again. My worst games are the ones i screw up myself.
Like messing up an early war, overexpanding before BC, missing the oracle by 1 turn and/or exploring in all the direction overlooking the stone 4 tilrs from the capital...
or like my last game, declaring war before checking if the civ hhad any vassals... was a quik war
Pir Lan Tota Apr 10, 2008, 07:36 AM I am exploring with my warrior and find a civ that does not have a defensive unit in its capital....I declare war and move my unit next to his town, hit end of turn and plop a warrior stands in his town....anoying but hey, ask him if he wants peace, he says no, so I think, . .. .. .. . it will walk around a bit more...I move my warrior off into another direction, hit end of turn and then notice that HIS warrior just took my capital :D
